Why did HBO become HBO Max and then Max? What's the point? It's not like the HBO brand was crap and they needed to replace it, was it?

Well, anyway, I watched The Swamp on Max last night.

It's a 2-hour documentary (I guess) that seemed to be about 1 hour of good stuff about corruption and the workings of Congress, and about 1 hour of campaign promo for Matt Gaetz.

If you either like Matt Gaetz, or feel you can withstand his charms, the show is worth a look.

I am keeping it for now, but most of the stuff they added are basically things you could watch on Pluto for Free.

Well, free with commercials on Pluto. Or have they changed that?

HBO is one of the streaming services I get intermittently. Or if they have a sale.

What I mean is, the content is nothing special. I enjoy the one about the abandoned places, but I would not pay for it.

At some point a reckoning on streaming is coming. I noticed our own little cable/internet company here is offering their own streaming package.

I watched this a while back and enjoyed it. I couldn't believe how much time they spend on the phones raising money, which is basically their job.

I’ve just always assumed Max came from Cinemax since some of the streaming content was from that channel, which is owned by the same company.

It was an interesting documentary that made Gaetz appear normal and likable. It certainly shows the WWE side of politics. Away from the ring, these guys appear normal and yes, rational. Once the lights go on, they go into this persona they built.

Yeah, it really is marketing incompetence to take the most well regarded and marketable part of the brand and drop it for a common word in the English language.
