The tale of two programs

One program fires a perennial 9-3 coach, with 10 wins sprinkled in.

The other cements into a contract extension that 7-5 is good enough.

Regardless of the Huskers delusions of returning to glory, at least they have the balls to demand greatness.

Quickly, tell me your job, income, etc. And why you're on a board that is free instead the premium site? You don't demand greatness out of youself? You're all a bunch of idiots for acting this way. You must have pretty sad, pathetic lives to feel a football program that has 5 top 10 finishes during the coaches tenure is underachieving. Thank goddess our team doesn't act this way when things don't go their way - i bet they're working their ass off not feeling sorry for themselves or making excuses. Sh_t happens in life, deal with it! Watch how our team responds - they'll deal with it!

What does that have to do with it? Are the guys that pay $6 a month now the elite, or the elitists?

So, you are willing to accept less as long as you can demand greatness? Do we need to review championships, BCS bowls, etc. over the last 15 years for you? The Huskers are demanding themselves right into oblivion.

I'm not a football coach. In my everyday, north of six figure life, I do demand greatness of myself. Your responses are stupid, make little sense.

While we're on me; made $325,000 last year. Net worth well north of $6M. Four kids in private school, all have college paid for. Live in a $750K house, have a lake house as well. Spend my Sunday's in the homeless shelter handing out food to the needy. Am on the board of Toys for Tots, and have literally given jobs to people with little skills in order to help turn their lives around. Graduated from Iowa's School of Law.

Oh, I'm so sorry that I expect the program to have above average results, especially since my season tickets cost north of $400/seat per game...

My bad.

Please review total win/loss in that time frame. Please review head to head match up in that time frame. Iowa=neb in that time frame. The truth will set you free. Iowas best 15 year stretch is no better than nebs worst 15 years stretch. Either bowl games matter or they don't you need to choose. Please review iowas bowl record in that time frame.

Why not give your season ticket to someone less fortunate than yourself? Perhaps a gift to a make a wish child. Only thing missing from your resume.

Every year my foundation sponsors a group of kids and takes them to a game. Last year it was seven kids, this year it will be about eleven. We put them and their family up in a hotel, give them a tour of the field, meet some players, Herky, the whole nine yards.

My credentials aren't in question.

Nebraska hasn't had a top ten finish in 15 years and Iowa has had five in the same time period. When Nebraska was having success, they had 2 coaches in 35 years. The current group of Nebraska fans might be a bunch of babies but it has almost nothing to do with any success they've had.

I would be interested in donating to your foundation. It sounds like a very good thing for kids, generally speaking. What other activities is your foundation involved in? Is this a recognized non-profit? In spite of my Husker fandom, I am a bigger fan of helping kids grow up to be better humans.

How can I (or anyone interested) help you and your foundation? I am seriously interested in the work you are doing for kids. This transcends college football and is more important than just about anything else in life.

Please post a website or donation site. If it qualifies as a deduction for IRS purposes I will happily donate to send some of your kids to the next Nebraska game, or whatever the foundation decides is best for this donation.

Best wishes,

BigRedFlood

We seriously need to quit comparing ourselves to Nebraska. We can't win at that game. We are who we are, and we need to build on that. To compare ourselves to a former blueblood, multi national championship winning, multi Heisman Trophy producing team, only makes us look pathetic and delusional.
What say we hoe our own row.

Nebraska had their day. That day is over. Will they win a B1G West championship eventually? Yes. Will they win a B1G championship eventually? Probably. Will they win another national championship? Far less likely. Nebraska will win plenty of games now and in the future but they will never dominate again like they did.

Wouldn't greatness be sending a group to every game? Still mountains to climb. In all seriousness thank you for the work you do. Helping less fortunate kids is great. If you could share your foundation it could grow. Hawk fans are incredibly generous. The wrestling for life program on the wrestling board is proof of that.

problem with this is husker fan will still make those sell outs regardless of what your record is so who cares what coach gets put in as long as you make a change once in a while.
That whole pride over a stupid record when all you guys are doing is reinforcing them to do so.

Iowa has 5 Top 10 finishes, since 2001, which was the last time, Debbie finished in the Top 10.

I would've just let Kirk's old contract run out, and then, bring in Bielema.
Signing him, until 2026, doesn't make sense, given how vocal fans were in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, after that 10-year contract given in early 2010.

Note to angry Iowa fans like the guy I'm quoting... The time to pipe up about us isn't right after we beat a ranked and perennial strong program, and one of the most athletic teams in the country. Nor is it after your team just got manhandled on the LOS by an FCS school. I wouldn't think I would need to remind you of this small detail.

Your anger is misplaced. You should be taking it out on the team in black and gold that crapped the bed last Saturday.

I'm guessing you're really a UNL grad who lives in your mother's basement. Am I right?

I just knew you Husker fans would do this. I know you are delusional to a fault but that Oregon team that you beat IS NOT the Oregon of past seasons so quit acting like you've just beaten the 2010 or 2014 Ducks. You didn't, not even close. More evidence that Husker fan has real issues with comprehension of the present.

In reality no one knows how good Oregon is, similar to LSU, Tenn and Wisc. The season will play out. No need to overreact B1G champ game is still out there for Iowa. Honestly some of you worry more about what's happening everywhere else. Beat Rutgers by 14 and everyone will move on.

Become bigger donor, make big donor friends; get coach fired.

You do realize the Bison have only beat one team in regulation this year?

You're saying that premium board = greatness? And how do you come by that theory, if you please? Just curious. There must be some criteria you used to come up with that.

Sure they aren't, but they are still ranked, and their coaching staff has said it's their fastest RB group ever...to go along with the talent they already have. But the take home here is that you just don't talk smack to anyone when your team just went o-fer against the FCS.

I posted Saturday that it's not the worst thing in the world to lose to NDSU, but coming back and seeing dorks talking smack when their team just lost to the FCS is truly entertaining.

You're saying Suburbian is me? I know you believe that, because you have the hots for Prime. He is not me, though we are very close acquaintances. He's not lying in this thread by the way.

Birch, when you're Prime, there is no need to be anyone else.

You're on an Iowa message board. You don't get to decide who talks smack here. If you're really that surprised that it's happening, you must be new to the whole message board phenomenon. Kind of like Nebraska fans talking smack on your message board after losing to Iowa at home last year.
