In Trump's picks, the emerging theme is "disruptive." People whose ideas are getting them nominations as opposed to their government experience.

In a way, this should be a liberal dream...a giant eff U to the Washington establishment. Rs should hate this, Ds should celebrate it, after all Trump, Gabbard, RFK Jr., Musk, all Dems for most of their lives have moved into the Republican party and now want to upend systems left and right.

But what we have is team red, team blue, R vs. D, where most will not break rank. Oddly, the most hated of Trump's picks, Gaetz, has probably broken rank as much as any of them (which is why he won't get confirmed), exposing Republicans capitalizing on insider trading information.

Related side note on Gaetz, Republican lunatic MTG had an interesting suggestion..."let's not only make public the ethics report on Gaetz, but EVERYONE'S ethics reports!" I'm here for it. HBOT fodder for weeks.

Anyway, just some thoughts. I'm in full support of the Dems FAFO strategy and am prepared for the FO phase. I don't anticipate all of these picks getting through confirmation, but the next year or 2 will be interesting. I'm particularly curious about how the DOGE works out.

I don't think they're disruptors at all. I think they're grifters. I think each one will use their position to siphon as much money off the taxpayer into their pockets as possible.

Trump is a "disruptor" the same way the bubonic plague was a "disruptor".

The democrats just ran a 1.5 billion dollar campaign and paid their admin over a 3rd of it and you think it's the repubs that want to grift the public with admin.........

This should be all you need to know. You have one party that is holding on to their never ending bureaucracy grift and a new administration that is trying to kill it. It literally couldn't be more obvious.

It is just amazing that we're coming up on nearly year 10 of Trump dominating the Republican party and someone who can read, write, is seemingly employed and - crucially - follows politics yet still has the understanding that the OP does. Just a complete distortion of reality, which of course means he has a perfect home in today's Republican party.

The R's are not the establishment, tradition minded, even keeled, conservative party whose base is made up of doctors, lawyers, scientists, accountants, white collar, educated people. That notion of the party has been dying since before even the Tea Party and should have been crystal clear when Trump took control in 2016, and reaffirmed when he tightened his grip after 1/6 and a series of criminal indictments.

The R's are the disruptors, the fvck the norms, fvck the establishment party. Their base is angry, victimized for too long and they want a fighter and someone who will piss off everyone that has been holding them down, making unfulfilled promises, and who have been condescending to them just for being Patriotic Christians.

These cabinet picks aren't disruptors in terms of having new ideas or unorthodox policies to fix problems that the old ways failed to do, they're not visionaries who are before their time. They are disruptors in the sense of their lack of qualifications, their unsavory pasts, their lack of seriousness and devotion to the supreme disruptor - Trump. Which of course - their devotion, loyalty - is the primary qualification.

Perhaps to put it in a context that the OP can understand: If your QAnon neighbor was able to make regular appearances on Fox News, he would have had a good shot at a cabinet position.

That said, we voted for this, we deserve it.

They aren't going to kill their budgets. Don't be naive. They're going to put those budgets in their personal pockets.

This whole situation reminds me of a Mel Brooks and Buck Henry sitcom from the 1960's called Get Smart. It was a parody of the James Bond spy thrillers of that era where an agency called Control is responsible for protecting America. The enemy of the US in that show was a group called KAOS, which is what Trump has brought us.

For those who may not remember the show, here is a trailer from the first season. That was a lot more innocent period it seemed.
