Something is wrong with this picture. Certainly finding out what happened in Benghazi is important, but to have as many hearings as all of 9/11? There seems little doubts these days that it's mainly motivated to take down Hillary.

Are there any controversies of the 9/11 findings that remain unexplored?
I'm sure if Obama of Hillary were President during 9/11, the GOP would be able to invent all kinds of unexplored controversies. Even Gowdy has admitted that this new Benghazi investigation is turning up very little new information.

It's this attitude that's wrong.

And Gowdy never said that. At least try to keep informed.

How about we handle it this way. When they ask for information such as emails etc etc, they give them the information instead of the committee having to find out that there was en email server that no one knew about. A lot of this is on the Dems. They should have just said, we lied about the video because we needed BO to get re-elected and it would have been done. In the rear view.

You are so full of crap. There is nothing that could have been said immediately after the attack that would have led to an end to the investigation. Perhaps the resignation of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and the entire cabinet. MAYBE then.

The committee received more e-mails the DAY before Hillary's testimony. The State Dept. has been stalling for years. Not the committee's fault that happened.

The e-mail (phone call?) that Hillary sent/made to the Egyptian president was given to the committee the day before she testified. Why is that?

Yeah, you're upset that the GOP is looking pettier a pettier with each passing hearing.

I expect my elected officials to hold each other accountable. If in that process the GOP doesn't win the political gamesmanship - so be it. I'm still happy they are willing to put their own careers on the line in the pursuit of the truth. Because if they do that folks like Clinton will be less likely to lie in the future. The pain of the process is worth it.

I wouldn't exactly call using taxpayer money to personally attack the Democratic frontfunner, "The pursuit of truth." I guess you and I disagree on this point.

Seriously?? Were you paying attention yesterday. Everybody knows they had to change what happened after BO said that the terrorist are on the run. After he got elected they just should have said this is why we did it and been done. Honesty from the start would have helped but politics are more important than people.

Do you understand the difference between an investigation and a hearing? I'm only asking because it appears you don't.

Number of congressional hearings, public or private, held on the Benghazi tragedy according to publicly available hearing transcripts, congressional reports, and committee websites and fact sheets. More than 22. I'll finish the list on the next post.

I think that half a dozen or so hearings, and maybe three investigations would have been more than fair for Benghazi. But to put up numbers like this is just embarrassing.

It's the longest special committee in US history. At some point you have to say enough is enough.

Only when the people you're investigating cooperate. They've been stone-walled for two years now. How long does it take to produce e-mails? The FBI is investigating her.

The ONLY reason it's taking this long is because the State Dept and Hillary haven't given over everything they've been asked to.

Its it obvious to anyone else that Benghazi was a CIA operation? That's why the Republicans feel so free to make political hay over it, they know that what was really going on there was classified and can't be discussed in open hearings. So they have all these dog and pony shows in order to stir up the base and try to hurt Hillary knowing that the the truth has to remain hidden.
Growing up a military brat overseas we knew several "diplomats" who were really in the CIA. This whole thing just reeks of it.

If that conspiracy theory is true, WHY must it remain hidden? Ambassador Stevens is dead. We don't have to protect his secret identity anymore.

Yeah Trad, that's how it works. Every time an operation gets blown up the CIA sends out a press release telling everyone what they were doing and who was involved. "Caught us this time! But next time we'll do better!"

Hillary: "Yeah, and sitting through all those damn hearings......my butt gets fatter and my thighs accumulate more cellulite.....those damn Republicans are making me unattractive to Bill"!

You are probably right about this. However, if the administration had either told the truth from the start, or admitted its deception when it became obvious, that would have made a major difference. And if the administration had not continually dragged its feet, refusing to provide material to the various investigators, that also would have made a major difference.

So, you're cool with our government keeping secrets from us forever?
Most partisans are absolutely happy with that. It allows them more to argue about. The more time goes by, the more both sides even embrace all of them. Look at the hidden JFK files that aren't allowed to the public until... who knows when. Why hide something if there's nothing to hide?

That was my point and the Dems would not have cared. That is what I can't figure out. It is proven that BO and this administration can do no wrong in the Dems eyes and Hillary is starting to fall into that category too so just come out and say what you did and the minions would have stayed in line, they always do.

That's the best the repubs can do?
Amateurs!
When will they get serious on this?

Doesn't make it right.

Everyone is sooo concerned about the lives of our service men and operatives living in harm's way...unless it means we might score a hit on the other political party. Then we NEED TO KNOW. We have RIGHT TO KNOW damnit!!

Those things tend to get unclassified when everyone who was involved is retired or dead. Otherwise they end up retired or dead.

Yes trad, if he was indeed working for the CIA it was alone. He had no support, no contacts, no coworkers, no network. Just him and a t-shirt that said "CIA" on it. Nothing else that needed protection.

  • Bob Woodward On The Benghazi Committee: 'It Clearly Is Partisan'
The legendary journalist says, accurately, that politicians mislead all the time.

    ASSOCIATED PRESS
WASHINGTON -- Legendary investigative journalist Bob Woodward has been hard on Hillary Clinton during the course of her presidential campaign, comparing her handling of emails to Richard Nixon’s White House tapes.

On Sunday, however, he gave her campaign a small gift. Appearing on "Fox News Sunday," he called the select committee investigating the 2012 attacks in Benghazi “partisan” for its focus on Clinton and downplayed one of the main new findings the committee has made in relation to Clinton’s private communications.

“Watergate was about a series of crimes, well-established, and so it was the Republicans who eventually turned on Nixon and it was a bipartisan inquiry. Here it is not. It clearly is partisan,” Woodward said.

He was offering a statement of fact -- a simple assessment that half of the committee's panel (the Democratic half) was clearly unconvinced that Clinton had done something criminally wrong. But then Woodward appeared to echo that side's skepticism.

“There are legitimate questions here,” Woodward added. “You have inconsistencies. This is a tragedy and it should be investigated. You are right ... She did and attempted to answer all those questions. But there is no crime here on her part and to try and criminalize it and suggest as some people have said, ‘Oh, she will be in jail.’ I mean there is no evidence of a crime. There is evidence of inconsistency. I mean, my God, this is our business, our lives. People saying one thing privately and saying something different publicly.”

Woodward’s last point was in reference to emails and communiqués uncovered by the committee prior to Thursday’s hearing. In them, Clinton told her daughter, Chelsea, that the group responsible for the Benghazi attack was al Qaeda related. Additionally, in notes on a conversation she had with the Egyptian prime minister, she stated that the attack wasn’t in response to an anti-Muslim tape that had sparked global protests.

Republicans have said this is evidence that Clinton lied to the public in hopes of maintaining the Obama campaign narrative that terrorists were in retreat. Clinton has said that these were simply reflections of the difficulty in getting solid intelligence in the aftermath of the attack -- the fog of war.

That's because America bought the lies about 9-11 and that arabs, particularly Saudis, who made up most of the fake terrorists, did not actually do it, and that a fake boogie man named obl did it, and so we bombed Iraq and afghan, then supposedly Obama killed an already dead obl in Pakistan, not afghan, then bldg. seven just came down on its own. that's why
