I think this whole "controversy" is rather stupid but there is a big difference between trash talking in the heat of the game and gloating after the outcome is determined.

LSU and Iowa players were throwing up the 3 goggles all game after made 3s. A couple LSU players did the Cena thing after made 3s in the first half. Why isn't anyone talking about that? Because it's not a big deal. It's the middle of the game. Players trash talk and celebrate all the time during the game.

Gloating after the game is kinda scummy and classless.

If you watched The Last Dance, Jordan gave a great talk about gloating vs trash talk after BJ Armstrong (played for the Hornets at the time) hit a shot to seal a Charlotte upset over the Bulls in the playoffs and talked trash to the bulls players. Jordan was asked if he was worried about the Hornets after the upset; they seemed pretty confident. "Anyone can trash talk when the game's over," Jordan said (paraphrasing). "That's not confidence. That's desperation. I'm only worried about the guys who are confident enough to talk sh&# when they're down ten and not up ten."

Caitlin made the Cena gesture during the game and it was not targeted toward anyone in particular, it was s "you can't stop me" move. Doing it after the game is decided, in someone's face is has classless as her fake eyelashes, hair extensions and tats were.
Some people tried to make the claim that she did to Van Lith. Which I don't think she did but even then Van Lith was yapping all game even when down big. I've read one point clark literally told her to shut up you are down 15. Difference with trash talking like that going back and forth especially when other player started it. But I didn't see one thing said to Reese during the game and like OP stated that's the big difference. She wait's till 1 min left that starts acting like the most classless winner there is literally calling clark a ho on the FT line.

Honestly as Iowa fan I would've hated it because we lost but if Reese had walked in front of her bench or did the ring gesture to LSU crowd so be it. You won a title, you're excited so be it. By doing so you aren't showing anyone up. To me it's like in football nothing wrong with celebrating after a TD or big play but huge difference when you celebrate/taunt another player after doing like dancing in his face or spiking the ball in front of him and that's exactly what she did.

You know, I think I'm done with this. Reese has made an ass of herself and long term she will pay the consequences for it. When sponsors come calling, who do you think they are going to want to represent their product? Time to move on and look forward to next season.

Like comparing Peyton Manning to Colin Kaepernick.

Go out and read the article on ESPN now from William C Rhoden. Just a pack of lies. So disgusting.

Based on the number of endorsement deals between the two. Just say'in.
Oh, I didn't know that's the angle you were coming from. I guess....although I don't really know much about their endorsement deals for your point to mean much to me. I know Colin got that Nike contract but that's about it as far as I know.

Exactly, like all the Packers players chasing down and getting into Justin Jefferson's face after every play in their last game at Green Bay...........

Packers fans tried to defend it............we all know better. ;)

Richard Sherman was notorious for getting up in people's faces after games and gloating.

And then he talked noise to the wrong dude.

Sherman punched
