Oh shit up with that cliche. It's a toy/hobby like anything else we blow money on.
For a truck, yes. It should still be able to get over 200k miles.

For the ship engine, apparently these things operate at such a low RPM 50-130, that adding boost is negligible on wear. They’ll need to be overhauled for corrosion before they’re actually worn.
