Thinking of becoming an internet troll

Go to the Nebraska board and kindly remind them they haven't won a meaningful bowl game this century. Then tell them that the Blackshirts are dead and gave up 40 points to one of the worst offensive Iowa teams we've seen in our lifetime.

If you're feeling really ballsy tell them they will never peak above the standard Pelini set ever again.

You don't have to believe what you post, you just have to make others think that's what you believe.

Also, people who attack are flamers and not trolls. Most of the posters around here who think they are trolls are actually flaming, and flaming isn't cool.

Head over to BWI and tell them the faculty was complicit in the Sandusky scandal.

Completely off the topic, but I just recently read the story of Ray Gricar in this whole case. It's actually kind of interesting if anyone wants to read about it. He was the DA that was gathering information on this case 6 years before it went down and he was making enemies at Penn State and one day just disappeared.

I don't listen to the news too much so it was interesting to me anyway. Most of you probably already knew about it.

Somebody knows something on his disappearance, wonder how many more years pass before someone steps forward with info or from a guilty conscious.

If you take this approach, you might want to get all of that in on 1 post. I've heard they are a bit touchy over there.

- Perfect the drive-by technique (see iowalaw)

- Feed the political nuts exactly what they don't want to hear.....threads and pages for days

- Don't mind some self-loathing and use personal insults thrown at you as a weapon against those you're arguing with. This also works well when it comes to favorite teams, movies, games, etc etc etc. Don't be afraid to make fun of an Alabama fan for rooting for Alabama simply because you're an Iowa fan and he might say that Iowa sucks and is nowhere near Bama's level. This works well with Nebraska fans. They hate this sh**. :D

- Multiple usernames is another avenue but it can run its course depending on the con you want to play.... (Stevenpatrick, another example was an Ohio State fan on the Rivals MB who pretended to be a female Ohio State fan for 5 years)

- And lastly and most importantly......figure out what bothers people and use that to your advantage. (Another Rivals MBA example, a guy put another guy on his ignore list because he kept joking about Stannis Baratheon from GoT being dead, and the one guy couldn't deal with it, so during every argument whether it be about movies or sports or whatever, the guy that got ignored would throw in jabs about Stannis being dead and the other guy would flip sh** in the middle of the thread).

There's other tips and tricks but master these and you'll be well on your way......

Don't listen to any of this. I'll give you the real 411 on trolling.

Find something that nobody wants to admit, and then tell the truth about it. End of story. Calling someone names might get you a couple responses, but bring some truth to light, that nobody wants to face, and you will live in the minds of other people.

Like Kirk Ferentz being the best and only coach for Iowa?
