This could be a blessing in disguise

Don't get me wrong, I wanted us to win today and roll through the big10 tourney. But if our recent problems have been tired legs, or not playing well when being the hunted instead of the hunter, well we've solved those problems. If im a 2 seed, i hate seeing us on that 7 line.

It's refreshing that someone's looking for a silver lining, but man, that's a stretch. Since our last game Sat night, Illinois played a 2OT game on Sunday, then played the day before our game. Saying we didn't play well against Illinois because of tired legs is either a total joke, or an indication of how pathetically out of shape the team is. For the life of me, I can't figure out why every year, every Big Ten team seems to get better as the year goes on, while we get exponentially worse.

If I'm a #10 seed, I would absolutely LOVE seeing Iowa on the #7 line. Personally, I think we're a #9 and will lose our first game by double-digits.

We had rested legs against Wisconsin when they should have had very dead legs.. They whooped our ass

I mentioned "tired legs" because that was a common refrain on these boards over the last few weeks. Valid or not, they wont be an issue.

I think the tired legs excuse was lost after the Wisc game. I and other were optimistic that after PSU, they would come back with some energy and fire...clearly not the case

Recent problems have not been due to tired legs. The problem is between the ears.

I like your optimism, but barring some miraculous turnaround or some new invention of Metamucil for the brain, I don't see Iowa going too far in the tourney.

Hope I'm wrong.

Had you said "tired brains" I might have bought in. As it is, I see an 8 seed against a team that bombs 3's and a flame out.

Well maybe the between the ears problem is gone too. I feel like when we peaked, we started playing like we were afraid to lose, to hang on to our status. Well that is clearly gone. Just go out now and play like underdogs

Iowa never developed a consistent bench that could score
points and give the starters a breather. Uhl seemed to
regress this season. Baer was a pleasant surprise but his
body needs to be beefed up for Big Ten Conference games.
Wagner and Williams will be counted on for next season.

it would be interesting to see what happened to bench minutes over this losing streak. Woody is playing too many minutes to be effective. Williams, wagner have looked good but minutes have been few and far between for them.

It was not tired legs, it was a faulty coach who never developed a 3rd scorer or found a replacement for Sapp. Iowa will not win another game this year unless we find a team with a poor center that Woody can get bunnies against. Damn, we had two chances to ties the game and we could not get the ball in bounds.

Do anyone think that we will play a game next year where Jok is not double-teamed?

Yup we will not see another Davidson this year. We will get a Big East or Big 12 team in the 8/9 match-up and we will get beat by at least double digits. We do not have the speed/athletes to keep up with them. Our team is very slow footed.

This was no blessing in disguise. It was a disgusting eye opener that our coaches are not going to make any adjustments to what has hampered us. The end of the first half told me all I needed to know about our NCAA chances. This team has no shot of a deep run with MG and AC logging big minutes together.

This. I hate to say it and am normally in the sunshine and rainbows crowd. I never post negative about the players and love our coaching staff but I am absolutely speechless that our coaches have not realized that our pg's are the least clutch players I have ever seen. AC needs to come of the bench so he doesn't have so much pressure. Mike should never touch the ball with less than 10 seconds on the shot clock or 30 seconds in a half.

We lost to a 16-16 PSU and a 15-18 Ilinois. Face reality people, we are NOT good. The first part of the season was a fluke. We were projected to be middle of the pack and we are just that an average mediocre big ten team. Now let's move on and win maybe one game in the tourney and get ousted like we usually do.
