What an ugly game by both teams. This Iowa team is not ready for big games. So many mental mistakes by the OL, D, WR's and a colossal crap the bed game by Stanley. Stanley looked like he was the 4th string QB that was thrown into the game after the top 3 QB's went down with injuries for most of the game. This team is not ready for big games. PSU kept giving Iowa gifts during the 1st half and Iowa couldn't get any momentum going with those gifts. Any time we got back any control in the game we kept shooting oursleves in the feet until we ran out of feet to shoot. Northwestern gave us a gift today as well. This is one where you just stare at the fire for a while as a fan.

It was really just Stanley. One of the worst single game performances by an Iowa player in recent memory.
Perhaps the coaches have him thinking too much with calls and play changes at the line of scrimmage.

OL missed a lot of blocks and had a rough day with penalties and snap counts. WR's were once again mixing up routes (or maybe it was the coaches that were dumb enough to have receivers crossing one another between 2.5-3 secs after the ball was snapped), D had some big let downs in the game and yes Stanley looked overwhelmed and ill prepared for such a big game.
Regardless, there were open receivers all game. This was probably one of the best game for Iowa receivers in the last 10 years but alas, they had nobody to throw the ball to them.
Your right. To be tied with PSU at the half after the amazing gifts early on and with the wonderful field position should've realized that Iowa was gonna lose.
