This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Are you confusing Iran with Iraq?
We sent planeloads of cash to Iraq too.
But he's talking about Iran.

Let’s start here:

Do you consider the ‘meddling’ by Nuland, etc in Ukraine’s government to be a violation of their national sovereignty?
If you are talking about the leaked audio, no I don't consider that meddling. But of course, as you always do, you didn't answer anything jn my post, simply began a new one. Meddling would be the Russian troll farms. Not a state diplomat discussing who the US would prefer as President.

“Meddling”? You’re too kind.

It wasn’t until July 7 that the Times admitted the importance of the neo-Nazis and other ultra-nationalists in waging war against ethnic Russian rebels in the east. The Times also reported that these far-right forces had been joined by Islamic militants. Some of those jihadists have been called “brothers” of the hyper-brutal Islamic State.

Also, a ‘re-branding’ may be in order. Maybe something a little less, idk, nazi-ish.

Videos like this one are anecdotal, but it's amazing to think about how much damage has been done by $100 drones dropping mortar shells. Sure, the HIMARS, Stingers, Javelins, and all of that precision stuff is neat, but in so many of those videos you see Russians huddling in fear, or oblivious to the danger presented by a relatively low tech, cheap weapon.
Agreed. I have a stupid question which has likely been answered already numerous times in this thread: are the Russian soldiers not able to hear or see these drones hovering above them? I’ve only seen one video of them even pointing a gun at one of these drones. Is it simply a case of them being exhausted or otherwise occupied with other threats on the ground?

No expert but these drones are pretty quiet.

More than reasonable to assume they simply don't hear them.

Add to it........I'm guessing most of the soldier have experienced some hearing loss from all of the bombing/shelling/fighting.

Somehow directly or indirectly related to the Urkaine war?

Being part of Wagner group sounds awesome:

"The concepts that prevail in these subdivisions are extra-statutory, to put it mildly, and in reality, they are absolutely criminal concepts. ‘We don't give up’ means that no one backs down. Retreating will result in either mutilation, which may include loss of limbs, or death. The wounded can be finished off – it’s absolutely normal (for them). There are multiple cases of a person dying not from injuries received, but from a shot or smashed skull, (killed by their own side) so as not to 'suffer' on the battlefield, the expert added."

Some recycled concepts but still an enjoyable read.

I'm guessing they're high enough up and small making them hard to see. The DJI Mavik 3 mentioned In this article has a maximum altitude of 30,000 ft.

Edit: The DJI website only claims 6000m, about 18,000 ft.

I would say this, along with the drones flying high enough so that sound dissipates, although all of my opinions are rank speculation.
I am not so sure though it is that all the time. Someone should do a calculation based on release of grenade to hitting the hiding troops how long it takes and how high up they are. There are a lot of videos I have seen and even posted here that show the guys bracing for impact, too scared to move. There was one video where one lands in a foxhole full of Russians and the slow reactions both before and after detonation indicates troops that are likely some combination of exhausted, malnourished and /or suffering from hypothermia. Heck there is even one where the guy knows he is being targeted by a drone and kills himself. I think they are aware of them but just unable to shoot them down.

The amount of what used to be called "battle fatigue" has to be extremely high in this conflict. There's been a lot of comparisons with WW1 but in WW1 when the artillery barrage ended...and if you kept your head down from snipers you could get some rest. With these drones there has to be a constant level of anxiety....never know when there's one up there getting ready to drop some grenades on you.

Obama in 2016 Brexit and Israeli elections? They should shut up but I can't see how it violates someone's sovereignty. But it is meddling.

US runs troll farms too. I linked the Facebook report on them in one of the Twitter threads.

I would like to point out they weren’t discussing simply who they ‘preferred’ as president of Ukraine, but how they would bring in foreign actors (Biden, UN envoys, etc) to “make it stick.” It was about who to install, not simply who we hoped would emerge.
