This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Taiwan buying equipment from the manufacturers (with US govt approval) is not the same as the US emptying its already on-hand equipment. Something ordered in 2015 should in no way be affected by whatever the US has given Ukraine.
It's a big difference that should be highlighted. Taiwan actually purchases the stuff....but the US has been really reluctant to arm them to the teeth....don't want to antogize China. That policy has been blown up by the Ukraine war.

Arm Taiwan to the teeth....

Kind of a discouraging read, but I trust the source:

so who is actually there to do this electrical work?
As with railroad workers and IT guys, Zelensky has insisted that critical infrastructure workers stay on the job versus joining the military. There are stories in this thread about the amazing work railroad workers have done repeatedly repairing damage done by Russian missiles.

Kind of a discouraging read, but I trust the source:

Discouraging if you are a Russian yearning to breathe freely. But, it's also about the chaos ripping into Russian society, especially as sanctions really start to bite in deeply. Yes, there is repression, but it's going to be hard to keep it all in check, and in so many situations they feed on each other and eventually one of these individuals in charge, or organizations may decide they need to bump off the big guy and slide back to a more normal stance.

❝NATO will continue to stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes. We will not back down

Well, I won't back down
No I won't back down
You could stand me up at the gates of Hell
But I won't back down
No I'll stand my ground
Won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground
And I won't back down
Hey baby
There ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won't back down
Well, I know what's right
I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin' me around
But I'll stand my ground
And I won't back down
Hey baby
There ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Hey I will stand my ground (I won't back down)
And I won't back down
Hey baby
There ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Hey I won't back down
Hey baby
There ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Hey I will stand my ground (I won't back down)
And I won't back down (I won't back down)

No I won't back down

"And now our defenders here are outnumbered thanks to the "Wagnerites" and inmates. We talked to a prisoner. They follow prison colony rules. He himself is an anti-tank missile operator. He was thrown into an assault. He asked why exactly he should go on an assault, because he is an anti-tanker. He was beaten quite seriously, thrown into the cold, and a week later was called and asked if he would join an attack. And he agreed, because he remembered a story when the men were standing in formation, the commanders came and said: "Guys, we understand everything – cold, rain, swamp – it's hard. If you don't want to, raise your hand, you won't have any questions." Two people raised their hands, they were taken aside and shot in front of the entire formation. Then they asked: who still does not want to fight? These guys are driven by fear and constantly storm our positions in small groups."

Expect less funding for Ukraine under a Republic led house. Nothing to argue about here, they're flat out saying it.

Unpossible

@binsfeldcyhawk2 said this could not possibly happen.

Ukraine has hit back at a claim by the European Commission's president that 100,000 of Kyiv's troops have been killed since Russia's invasion in February

Ursula von der Leyen used the number in a video address, prompting Kyiv's armed forces to state that the death toll was "classified information." Footage of her speech has since been edited to cut the reference.

Kind of a discouraging read, but I trust the source:

Sounds like the Russian people aren't miserable enough yet.
The West needs to press the issue.

Do you consider it a violation of national sovereignty?

So, if on Jan 6 a “quorum” of Senators voted for Biden’s “removal” after he flees violent protestors taking over government buildings, that wouldn’t be a coup in your eyes even though it doesn’t follow the constitutional method of removing a president from office, because…? They held a vote?
I’ve asked this question before, but you never fill in the blank of why that would be a coup here, but that happening over there (with the addition of our acknowledged ‘meddling’) somehow isn’t one.

You work so very very hard to justify Russian narratives here.
Why is that?

This is pretty nuts:

This is Gambell, I suppose it is a *little* better than a wet trench in Dnipro, lol:

Probably a variety of things, but being petrified seems like a good explanation. I imagine a lot of the guys picked up off the streets, given 10 days of training, and then dumped into Ukraine just freeze and hope the drone moves past them.

Most of them have never even seen a drone. Let alone most of the military technology being pointed at them.

Never gets old seeing fast flying jets at low altitude:

I mean seriously, they will be in NATO. Let's get them the rest of the free world's supply of Migs while also getting them trained up on f16s or whatever western aircraft we are going to allow them to receive, and get busy blowing the shit out of occupying forces in Ukraine.

Every once in awhile someone posts a graphic showing cell phone usage by Russians in Ukraine which gives a good idea of troop concentrations. Every time have seen one of them I've wondered about the Ukrainians just finding a weak spot and trying to punch through. The Russians have tightened up their lines a lot (Retreated), but I guarantee you there are exploitable pathways if the Ukrainians can spend a month or two resting up their soldiers and rearming. Find the weakest spot and punch down to the Sea of Azov.
