This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Only way it happens is when long time from now we can construct large aircraft capable of ridiculous speeds and maneuverability with G forces that no human could operate at. We a long way away from that tech.

Let's stick to the reality, that any "fighter jet drone" launched from hundreds of miles from a combat area, will have 2s-3s "lag time" on the guy controlling it from the "base".

That's how long it will take EM signals to be gathered by the drone, beamed back to the controller, then the controller has to act and send instructions back to the drone.

Not a good formula for any fighter jet, which is why that isn't going to be good use of drone technology. Could you use a swarm of drones, controlled by another fighter jet aircraft, close-by? Maybe, but if signals get jammed, like we already see with drones, it becomes a brick in the air once it loses that connectivity.

Individual fighters can have SOME sensors jammed, but the pilot can still immediately respond to threats. The drone can only complete whatever instructions you gave it; which means "unpredictability", and something that is "bad" in war.

Our resident GOPers keep telling us "this won't happen", even though their own Senate Minority Leader is telling them it's exactly what's going to happen.

"We'll never overturn Roe....it's the law of the land, and settled case law"...

Isn’t the House Minority Leader making those comments, not McConnell?

Update on Kherson. And you have to love Russia's strategy of dying!

"The Russian occupation administration in #Kherson , in the south of #Ukraine , indicated that it was evacuating the city in the face of the advance of Ukrainian troops, while assuring that the Russian army would fight on place "until death" #AFP 2/5"

Wonder if that old Ukranian lady, posted way back around page 15-20, handing out sunflower seeds, is still available to help these guys out...

I mentioned this idea the other day. Maybe it wasn't crazy after all.

You retro- that with an electro-mechanical control/guidance mechanism, an audio sensor to track the loud drones and laser targeting/high-end optics to pick up the drone flight track and gauge exact target distance, and you'll knock 100% of them out of the sky.

We don't even have AI tech that can run a McDonald's french fryer or make Taco Bell burritos yet.

But we'll get one to control $30M in fighter jet technology, fo-sho!!!
And I think you are off by a digit!

Russia really knows how to get the world on their side. One of the comments says they think Ukraine is at the point grain could still be exported anyway. I wonder about that. And yes, this would give the West the opportunity (excuse of keeping the sea lanes open) of chasing the Russians back to base in Crimea.
