This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

The era of the drone is the future of ground warfare.

Not aerial warfare and power projection.

US Navy isn't replacing their carrier airpower with drones. For probably several decades, if ever.
Impressive.

Back in February you didn't even know what a stinger missile was, now you're an expert in USN fleet/carrier strength.

Amazing what twitter can do.

TESTS per article FWIW.

"Vladimir Putin's tried to detonate a nuke but his plans were "sabotaged", an insider has claimed.

Top brass at the Kremlin are “sabotaging” his plans to use atomic weapons or there may be issues due to technical failures, it is claimed.

In recent days, there have been a series of NOTAM messages (Notice to air missions) and linked Russian navigation warnings indicating tests or live firing drills.

So far, there has been few indications of any major testing, although the final date for such disruption in the Barents Sea is October 22.

At the same time there are claims that earlier this month Putin ordered two nuclear missile tests which did not in fact take place.

Valery Solovey, an expert on the president and former professor at Moscow’s prestigious Institute of International Relations [MGIMO], a training school for spies and diplomats said: “[Putin’s] decision on the use of tactical nuclear weapons [in the Ukraine conflict] would no doubt face resistance."

I'd bet you could develop an "audio sensor" to hone in on that drone sound once fired and could get a 100% kill rate with it. Like bat echolocation, only tuned to the sound of their loud engines.

Get that attached to something that doesn't need to "fly fast", since these drones are slow, anyway.

Now that small radar profile doesn't matter.

EDIT: Ever see the guys on the NFL fields with the parabolic "cones" to catch on-field audio and amplify it? That's how this stuff works. Not difficult at all to make something directional. Works just like "beamforming" microwaves, only on audio frequencies...hell, you could have separate "overflying" surveillance drones with that tech, and lasers to guide standard missiles, which would even be a faster solution....because you use existing missiles that are fast as shit...
Old tech. The British built giant parabolic dishes out of concrete during WW2 and placed them on their coasts to collect the sounds of approaching Luftwaffe bombers, and triangulate their course and speed.

Now, imagine applying that to 21st century tech, manufacturing, materials, miniaturization....

Like I said: you could get a nearly 100% hit rate, with fairly basic engineering work and mods to old anti-aircraft systems...

Won't work on high-speed stuff, but slow noisy drones are like shooting fish in a barrel.

Someone needs to ask Elon for it because his team of scientists and engineers could probably design this in a day or two.

My biggest fear right now in addition to Kevin McCarthy's statement is the internal upheaval currently in Great Britain with the Prime Minister resigning.

Can Ukraine still count on Western aid in the next 3-4 months?
There is solid reporting that any Conservative party PM in the UK would be supportive of Ukraine. That is their official position, as is that of the Labour Party.
But, yeah, today's GQP is worrisome. They will start to tie further arms and support measures to insane s***.

I did

Your take on this is entirely wrong.
We get it, you don't understand how this stuff works. Your ignorance is leading you to double- and triple-down on nonsense.
Look, I'm going to tell you guys once again. This is a retread handle. It is his MO to go into every single thread and muddy it up. Stop responding to him. He double and triples down because he's jerking it to the attention.

Gonna hunker down behind the river...pretty formidable barrier.

With the way things have been going probably a prudent move by the Russians.
Meh. The Ukrainians are pretty good at hitting Russians all snug and comfy in their trenches and bunkers.

Not sure how good they are in contested river crossings. Guess we’ll see.

Not even sure they have enough bridging equipment.

FWIW Germany has delivered 7 medium and heavy bridging systems with 13 more on order. Don't know when one would use these vs pontoon bridges but there was a story from September talking about how the average Ukraine pontoon bridge during the offensive lasted only 24 hours. But Ukraine would then quickly build another one.

Who is he in a former poster life?

No Weapons if they do not turn over Hillary's emails, Hunter Biden's laptop, and the Russia dossier documents....
