This ones on Barta

I would assume Bartas feeling pretty awkward right about now. This scheduling of ndsu was nothing less than a cash gift to his alma mater and it blew up in his face big time. He deserves serious heat and needs to field questions from the press.

I still don't get this sentiment. When he scheduled this game, we didn't know they would be five time champs... But frankly, the team and coaching was terrible. Has nothing to do with our AD.

He can schedule whoever he wants. The reality of the matter is if we win this game none of you would have anything to say other than critiquing the line, saying how the game was closer than it shouldve been, and then stating how good of a team NDSU was. This wouldn't even be a discussion point. Grow up.

I don't get the sentiment either. No excuse for losing this game.

I'm not letting kirk and the team off the hook for this pathetic performance in the least. They were unacceptably terrible.

That being said, the u of I athletics program does not exist for the ad to funnel cash to his alma mater. It's a conflict of interest...period. Business 101and the higher ups at the u of I need to have a talk with barta. I wouldn't be surprised if they already have as it's a very obvious conflict.

So you would of rather played SC state who go rolled up by 70?? This game proves that KF and his staff are incompetent when it comes to facing superior coaching. They can gameplay all they want, but when they get up against decent competition, they Sh!t themselves.

This was TEAM effort today coaches, players, and even fans. the stadium was louder when NDSU was on defense, then when they had the ball.

I have always said that Iowa needs to schedule name brand teams like Notre Dame, USC, Oregon for their non conference schedule. This would increase revenue in ticket sales, and taking a loss from one of those schools doesn't sting as bad as getting beat by the likes of Montana State and North Dakota State. I also think it would help in recruiting playing the big name schools.

How often do we schedule non-conference games with teams in states where we don't recruit? What made NDSU different?

Let's not forget that Barta's right hand man is the former AD at NDSU. Buddy's helping buddy's.

It was stupid scheduling and NDSU had been gearing up and looking forward to his game for TWO YEARS.

Iowa needs to pull their heads out if their collective asses when it comes to scheduling. No more BS games like this, the crap series with ISU, etc. Winning gives you nothing, losing these, well, national embarassment.

That said, hats off to NDSU because they came in and kicked our asses today. The entire team of players and coaches at Iowa should be embarrassed and ashamed.

Barta is about the last person I'm blaming. I find it strange anybody blames him to be honest.
Agreed. No comment on his stupidity for giving King for Life two horrible 10 year contracts (that kind of speaks for itself, and did long before today).

How about this? How about a legitimate Big Ten Football Team just take care of business on it's Home Field against someone who has no business beating them. Yeah, lets try that.

Scheduling NDSU wasn't why Iowa lost today. It has nothing to do with the names on their helmets, what level they play, etc. It has nothing to do with Ferentz' salary, either.

The players have to come to the game ready to play, and the coaches have to adjust to the game play to what the other team is doing. Neither of those happened today.

Iowa got outplayed and outcoached today. It happens. And when it happens, more often than not, you lose no matter who you play.

This! As I'm watching Nebraska vs Oregon.

I think you do not give big extensions to coaches and not the scheduling. This was a good test for Iowa . The coaching, preparation and execution were horrible.

If Iowa had an AD like Wisconsin. One that demanded results before handing out a $500,000 a year pay raise. Wisconsin has had 4 coaches since Ferentz took over. But still, Wisconsin is ranked 13 nationally since Ferentz took over and that's 23 spots above Iowa.

We didn't lose because of Barta but it does have a smell of a giant conflict of interest. We also have Wyoming in the near future. You know where he was at before here. Yeah some great recruiting hot beds there.

Lol, I didn't even realize barta scheduled Wyoming. The guy's a total egomaniac. He knows a game with his former schools is a great opportunity for him to get media coverage and not let his former schools forget about him. He did a bunch of media in North Dakota this week.

Completely agree on the scheduling fail- NDSU is the ultimate upset alert team and there is no upside to scheduling them because we blow them out then we play like we should, we play a close game and were not quite the dominant team, and we lose like we did today and lose all national credibility. This team has won 5 freaking straight national championships and their quarterback is starting the the NFL and had a great week one!!!! Are you kidding?? If you're going to schedule a patsy- make it Jacksonville State, but if you want a good game with national attention/respect- do what other teams are doing and schedule a legit out of conference matchup that way if we lose we at least still can salvage our reputation. I think this one will haunt us for a lot longer than we realize.

I agree with the parts in bold because that's how it should be, but not the parts not in bold. Having to pay taxes sucks.

Interesting I missed all the Barta last names on the back of the jerseys. I did not see him on the field committing the hold that negated Daniels 63 yard run nor did I see him out there dropping passes or over throwing a wide open Kittle that would have been a TD on the second play of the game, and finally, I did not see him out there missing tackles or being taken for a ride while trying to tackle. Blame Barta? I get it that true Hawk fans are upset about this loss, but NDSU was a quality opponent and hopefully the beating this team gets from the fan base and national media will serve as a motivator for better things moving forward, because the one thing this loss did was embolden the national media and their perception about Iowa football.

The fans that get upset about what the national media says, should take a back seat because this loss has proven their point! Colin Cowherd, Booger McFarland, Paul Finebaum etc...will have a field day.

Is this a serious post? It's certainly not a realistic one.
