Those in Glass Houses...

That's a very unfortunate thing to read about, but LOL at you thinking that it is the equivalent of the disgusting situation that happened at the school you support. Also, please link an article commending the extremely low prevalence of child abuse in Pennsyltucky.

What kind of glass is your house made of OP?

Child abuse cases on rise in Pa. The 35 counties where it's most rampant

Both reports of child abuse and substantiated cases of child abuse have risen every year since 2013 in Pennsylvania, a Pennsylvania Department of Human Services shows.

The department's annual Child Protective Services Report for 2017 offers the most recent, comprehensive data available on child abuse in the state.

The increases in reports and substantiated cases aren't necessarily indicative of a societal change in the care of children statewide.

The reason
"Amendments to the Child Protective Services Law, effective in December 2014, continue to drive increases in reports of child abuse," the report states. "These amendments increased the number of mandated reporters of child abuse and added additional persons who could be identified as perpetrators of child abuse."

Still, even after the law went into effect, there has continued to be an uptick each year in reports and substantiated cases of child abuse.

Report's key findings
Among the Child Protective Services Report's key findings

Statewide substantiated reports of child abuse increased from 1.6 per thousand children in 2016 to 1.8 per thousand children in 2017.

Sexual abuse remains the leading category of abuse, followed by physical abuse.

Parents continue to be the persons most responsible for abuse of their children.

If anyone wonders why Penn State fans are hated so much, this post pretty much sums it up.

It's absolutely astounding how many of them refuse to even entertain the idea Paterno and the university did something wrong. That's fine. They can continue to be in denial and the university can continue to be referred to as Ped State.

F*** 'em. May they all rot in hell with JoePa some day.

Grasping? So are you disputing the facts? Guess what...children are abused in Iowa just as much as anywhere else in the country. Not making excuses for what happened at PSU, just pointing out how hypocritical your fan base is.

Your point? I actually live in Texas. Have for 16+ years. We know how to deal with monsters like Sandusky so they never do it again. I just despise people who judge others and refuse to admit that this shit goes on EVERYWHERE!

WL doesn't realize he's actually making the point. Abuse is a serious issue...the last thing we need is a high profile football coach/program/University enabling it.

Like. Penn. State. Did.

Iowa has a governor enabling it for very little tangible gain to the budget. I'd vote her out for this and a host of other reasons.

In March, Gov. Kim Reynolds signed legislation cutting $35.5 million from the state budget. That included slashing $4.3 million from the budget of the Department of Human Services, which oversees child protection.

Here is an idea for you:
1) Buy the paper the article was printed in
2) Light said paper on fire
3) Shove burning paper up your ass
4) Chant "This is how love with JoePa and Jerry feels"
