She had 11 points tonight! Watching her warm up in iowa city before that game— had no arch on her three and had me worried. But hit a bunch in Cancun
Quite excited to have her on the team. She gonna be goodShe had 11 points tonight! Watching her warm up in iowa city before that game— had no arch on her three and had me worried. But hit a bunch in Cancun
She needs to work on ball handling. She's had it stolen several times in the couple games she has played. She has nice shot, she seems still a bit hesitant to drive to the lane though
Appears to have solid ball handling
Her confidence is growing each game
Of course she does. She was just fully released like 12-14 days ago. She's had VERY little actual practice time with her team mates. Thats why her gelling in the offense is a work in progress, and yet individual things like shooting she's s a bit more up to speed. When Lucy gets back if AG can give us a good 8-10 minutes a game that would be huge......She needs to work on ball handling. She's had it stolen several times in the couple games she has played.
I like the thought here but expect it being more than limited minutes. Shift Olson to 2 would be really fun and effective - not to mention it would help Guyton's game grow immensely. They were running Olson at the 2 spot with Stremlow at the 1 spot for periods of time earlier this season. Stremlow is great player but more of a 2-3 spot player or perhaps a 1-2 combo guard.I think she plays all the backup pg minutes and they will experiment with letting lucy play the 2 for very limited minutes when we need multiple ball handlers. It's important to remember how much practice she's missed, so a week of practicing at the 1 against the press could really help her.
It’s unbelievable what some of our posters on here say. You’re absolutely right.Of course she does. She was just fully released like 12-14 days ago. The whole team needs to work on turnovers. Last two games we have 45 turnovers, 22 Thursday and 23 last nightShe needs to work on ball handling. She's had it stolen several times in the couple games she has played.
WTF did I say besides she needs to work on her ball handling? ****ing moron. I know she was hurt and out for a while that doesn't mean she doesn't need to work on things. I'm not saying she's not good, I think she needs to play more. It’s unbelievable what some of our posters on here say. You’re absolutely right.
I don’t think the post you are quoting was directed at you.WTF did I say besides she needs to work on her ball handling? ****ing moron. I know she was hurt and out for a while that doesn't mean she doesn't need to work on things. I'm not saying she's not good, I think she needs to play more.
I'm not at all worried about her ball handling. The last game she played was in Dec 2023 in high school. She will just need a few games to get used to the speed of the college game. She needs to work on ball handling. She's had it stolen several times in the couple games she has played.
Yes, me too. I didn't know she could shoot that well from 3.I'm not at all worried about her ball handling. The last game she played was in Dec 2023 in high school. She will just need a few games to get used to the speed of the college game.
I'm very pleasantly surprised with her outside shooting.
Fair enough.I don’t think the post you are quoting was directed at you.
Yes it was. As @kceasthawk said, she was cleared 12 days ago. Coming off a serious knee injury. Of course she’s rusty, and I’m sure Jan was planning on playing her maybe 7-10 minutes a game to give Lucy a break. Then she’s injured and Guyton has to actually be our main pts guard? Of course she’s going to turn the ball over a few times. She’s hardly practiced with the 1st team in live action. But yes, she needs to work on her ball handling. 😏I don’t think the post you are quoting was directed at you.
I'll add he didn't just play at Indiana he was super good at IndianaGuyton's father A.J. was a two time All-State basketball player
at Peoria Central High School in Illinois. He played at Indiana
University under Coach Bobby Knight. His position was point guard.
He also played in the NBA for about 5 years.
Bottom Line: She is going to be a great addition to the Iowa Hawkeyes
and their continued success. She has good basketball genes.
And her mom was a pro for many years, and a member of the Brazilian national team I believe....Guyton's father A.J. was a two time All-State basketball player
