The shorts are definitely short, for starters.

A few of the players (Coley, Stewart, and Sevillian) have taken to somehow rolling up the shorts. Not sure if it is for comfort or fashion. A little silly how long the shorts got in basketball.

Rolling up the shorts? Is that why the yellow uniforms have that white band at the waist? Not a fan of that, looks like a belt from the old school uniforms

Lots of guys teams do that too. When you see the shiny black stripe going across the waist for guys, that's the protected liner on the drawstring.

Or they have the tags hanging out.

I do think it's a fashion statement more and more players are doing.

Otherwise, if your shorts are too long..............get a smaller f***ing pair.

You mean, just ask for another pair? Hey, coach get me another pair or I transfer. I suspect it's for comfort or at least so the player doesn't feel the hem restriction above the knee.

As a high school teacher and father of a HS player - this is a trend everywhere - both boys and girls.
The trend for a long time was to make the "shorts" longer and longer - now it is finally going back the other way. Many schools still have team shorts that are the longer style - so the kids "roll them up" to get off the knee. My son does it every game.

PS - #3 sure is a pretty girl

If you ever attended any games you would know that Chase, Hannah and Alexis always pull the bottom of their shorts up

I think I've heard Bluder say that their practice shorts are shorter and so once they don their game uniforms, some of the women feel the need to roll up the shorts.

Yes, ask for another pair. It’s not like they only have one set per player.
Most likely the other pair(s) are also long. So ask for them to be shortened, if they're going to ask. While you're at it why not make all of them have the same hair style. I also notice some players on some teams have shoes not the same color.

The short rolling thing is 100% fashion. For years it was to see how long they could be and now it has reversed.

I was wondering why JoBo's tags were showing on his back side vs Drake; at first I thought they were inside out

First shorts were too short; now they are too long....

yeah, you would have thought this would have been discussed with the players and then Nike would have made it happen

so they start rolling up from the waist and not from the bottom of the short, correct?

so, both the men and women roll them up from the waist? that appears what JoBo did

Yep. Been going on in high school for a few years. I went to an event that featured teams from Iowa, Chicago, Minneapolis, and KC last weekend. Lots of rolled up shorts regardless of race, size, or location.

thank you.

crazy how we went from really long to the other way

where do kids want the short to land? Above the knee? Mid thigh?

I never thought I would see the short length shortening; very interesting development; i always thought it was interesting how guys like to show off their guns while at the same time wearing shorts that went way past the knee cap (why not show off the quads?)

Some of the guys are going mid to upper thigh. I grew up during the short shorts era and graduated to the fab 5 era. Sports fashion man.

Some of the women are actually tucking the bottom of the shorts up into the compression shorts they wear under the shorts.

Thanks for that. I thought that was what I was seeing but was not sure.

When will Nike simply give them the short length that they want so they don't have to roll them up from the waist or tuck them into the compression shorts?

I do like the lettering of the women's jerseys; ON THE MEN"S BLACK JERSEYS, the "O" is filled in with white, which cheapens the look, imo.

So in this pic (click on it for a larger view) there is 2 things going on, correct?

* Rolling up the sleeves
* Rolling up the shorts from the waist (which reveals a white waist band)

Looks tacky imo....

They don’t want short shorts...they want them rolled AND short. Dunno why but that’s the look.

I remember high school in the "short short" era. Our poor school only had a certain number of each size and it was a fight each night who could get the biggest pair.

(trying not to show off who HAD the biggest pair).

Long shorts rolled up started in AAU when kids could never get the right size and parents did not want to buy another pair after ordering the bigger size. Then like everything else. It became a fashion trend.
