Even though Jok is gone, our 3 point shooting will be even better this year:

Bohannon- Excellent
Moss- Very good
Nunge- Very good
Baer- Very good
Ellingson- Pretty good
Garza- Good
Kriener- Good
Dailey- Good

Best to worse free throw shooters based on what I've observed last year and so far this year:

1-Bohannon
2-Ellingson
3-Nunge
4-Moss
5-McCaffrey
6-Baer
7-Pemsl/Kreiner
8-Cook
9-Garza/Uhl
10-Wagner

Thoughts?

I'd go

1- Bohannon
2- Nunge
3- Ellingson
4- Moss
5- McCaffrey
6- Kreiner
7- Baer
8- Cook
9- Garza
10- Pemsl
11- Uhl
12 - Wagner

Baer is ranked too high in your FT shooting. He was just awful in B1G play last year. I think he’s very capable of improving (and he better if he wants to be on the floor at the end of games) I hate his set up and approach at the line. He needs to take a dribble or two to RELAX instead of grabbing the ball and shooting. Love Baer but right now the only one I rank below him is Wagner.

We were 12-22 for 3 (54.5%) really good. Atrocious at the line 21-35 (60%). Yikes. Garza and Cook struggled, and Cordell too. I'm sure that will be addressed by Fran and staff. We outboarded them 38-33. On the other hand, we had 6 players in double figures and Brady missed double figures by one point. Out of all that, there's one number that stands out to me. They had 10 assists, we had 23. Although they had 20 TO's, we had 17. Way too many.

We shot just over 59% for the game, very good. I'm glad Fran got players minutes in the second half. That will sharpen them a bit and should pay off in the long haul, (maybe the short haul too).

IMO, overall, yeah our FT shooting is not too great, but practice makes perfect. Defensively, not pointing at any specific players, I would say we are in a great need to improve for sure. Seems like Fran played lots of zone tonight. However, I did like Garza's challenges at the rim. We seem to be protecting the baseline better this year, but the lane needs improvement. JMO.

This team will improve as the season progresses. First regular season game, so I believe we should give them time. Let's get 100% healthy and we'll see where we go.

Maybe not that low on the ft shooting list but I get your point.

While Pemsl shot a couple percentage points lower for the season both he and Cook were 70% for most of B1G play. Even Uhl I rank above him but I did forget about Garza. So I only rank Baer above Garza and Wagner. Poor kid is just so high strung 75% of his first shot are back iron! He’s not bad if he gets a 2nd crack at it but I cringe when he shoots the front end

This may be the best shooting Iowa team I can remember. Didn’t see Miller’s six pack.

Garza is an excellent free throw shooter and has been since early in high school. He did have a tough night last night.

Overall I expect us to be right around 70-71% as a team depending on who's going to the line.

Bohannon and Moss need to get to the line more. Their ability to get to the line will be key in B1G play.

Garza needs to shorten up his routine. He’s got great form. Dribble, set, finish high. I’ll bet he’d improve 5 pats just on that

This isn't likely to be a better shooting team than Ralph Miller's undefeated Big Ten champions of 1970 or Bucky O'Connor's Fab Five teams of the 50s, but it does have the potential to be the deepest good-shooting team Iowa's ever had.
