A few clips of Ellingson, Uhl, Uthoff, Woodbury, and Hutton from last night's PTL games in Waterloo.

If Hutton will play the kind of defense he wants to, then it will be hard to keep him out of the rotation.

Where did what come from? I didn't see much in that video
Maybe I was watching something different, but I was surprised to see Hutton both attack the hoop and show a nice pull-up and step back from outside. Obviously the usual ptl caveats apply, but I think most expected defense and not much else from Hutton. If he can even flash those types of offensive skills, he will be a very pleasant surprise for most.

Yes he seemed to be a great slasher and doesn't mind some contact. Can hit that outside shot too to keep the defense honest.

Thanks to all for the info. I'm stuck in DSM and cannot make these games anymore.

My two friends that never miss PTL (and one is now going to GTL games as well) are my primary source. On my back this week so I didn't get a review of the latest games until this morning. I was jonesing hard for the info.

They both said Fleming and Ellingson are pretty even. I threw out the question of which would be more likely to start if Jok and Uthoff are the forwards. Both said Fleming was probably a better all around player but Ellingson will surprise. Both said the combination of the two will improve team shooting over the last few seasons.

Both said Hutton and Wagner play very hard all of the time. I forgot to ask about Uhl although the few seconds of high light video look OK. They said Woodbury also looks improved but its hard to tell because no one is nearly big or strong enough to guard him or keep him off the boards. Forgot to ask about Jok.

Williams was the point of disagreement. Both thought it was his best game but still disagree over the future.

Wish there was a way to live stream the games. Tanks again for the S2 guys.

from 1:20 on it is a Hutton highlight reel. #30. In one clip he drove the lane against Woody in perfect defensive position and just elevated over him and scored. Woody has 7 inches on Hutton. Most opposing players don't even attempt that much less are successful and score.

I also noticed he flexed on Woody, I like that. This team and program need some attitude and some grit to battle out tough games down the finish in the Big Ten.

Aaron White showed that quite a bit down the stretch last season and sometimes that passion is the difference between a W & a L.

I know I've mentioned it on here before but earlier this year on Hutton's Twitter he posted a series of photos where he threw down on a kid and stood over him, which was followed by a T. Love the attitude, just hope he doesn't let it get away from him.

We're going to be glad Hutton is on our side.

Brandon Hutton Iowa ‏@B_Hutt_34 Feb 11 I had to show good sportsmanship and apologize for standing over him.

That was after the dunk you mentioned.

Iowa would get to watch me shed Blood, Sweat & Tears on the court, which is caused by my passion and their support.

Then of course there is the HUGE Blood, Sweat and Tears tattoo (with ball and net) on Hutton's chest. (He didn't mean the music, he meant the work) The guy is into this journey.

Remember a couple years ago when Fran said we needed more toughness? :)

Someone might have already said this (didn't read everything here), but Hutton appears to be in the same mold as White as far as work ethic goes. If Hutton doesn't end up being much, it won't be because of lack of trying. I'm expecting big things from him by the time he's a senior.

I remember and I've posted several times here that Fran's teams won't necessarily look like what many of us expect with a group of mid-size gazelles running the court. I like size on the interior and some toughness in the paint which I don't know how much we will get either. Let's see what we end up with in this next recruiting class and then I think we'll have a better feel about where Fran intends to take this but I don't expect him to field soft teams.

I think our team next year looks a lot like Fran's last Siena team that beat Ohio State in the ncaa tourney, except add in a 7 footer in Woody. I like our chances if we get any contribution at all from the new guys.

the Marble led team was soft as Bounty.

they were/are the exception.

I was in Dayton that whole weekend and that is my same hope as well. 15 second Ricky was lucky Siena didn't beat Louisville.
