Has anyone brought the possibility of all these rich dudes faking their death and starting a new life?

Maybe, but think about the situations where opening it from the inside might be warranted - the only case for that is sitting on the surface and running out of oxygen. On the flip side, think of the other 99% of situations where this thing is significantly underwater and a malfunction of some sort could lead to this opening would be an instant disaster. Of all the flaws with this thing, this is one I can’t get that worked up about.I swear, the more I hear about this, it seems that a Darwin intervention was inevitable. I have yet to hear anything about this that seemed like a good idea.
Everybody hands grief differently.
...with four other desparate souls staring at you as everyone comes to realize that "this ain't good.".Sure, but I think it still beats the living hell that would be running out of oxygen in a metal tube at the bottom of the sea.
Soon....only 3 stamps left to go.a lot of submarie experts in this thread
Is there a hat involved…..?Soon....only 3 stamps left to go.

I'm curious if anyone knows if the pinging/tapping sounds could be tracked down and located to a more specific area of the search? I would think with our level of technology, surely there is some way to more accurately pinpoint its place of origin. But maybe not. Hoping for a miracle for these people, but the time is getting extremely tight now.
I'm clueless on the meaning or significance of your gif response, but I still will give you a like regardless.

If Jonesy can't find em', nobody can.
His character was in a bunch of the books as well iirc.Never see Hunt for Red October?
I think the issue he was lashing out before this tweet about how he was grievingMy parents are not divorced and I'm not divorced so I don't have any direct experience with it but do most people have a strong emotional connection to a step parent?
Not that I think it's right of him to be acting like this in such a public manner even if he doesn't care about his step dad.
Sounds like whales humping.
Setting up OP’s Mom Jokes on a tee right here….Sounds like whales humping.
It depends on the locality. I work with some that bill, some that don't bill, and some that don't bill residents but will bill non-residents.If you call an ambulance you get the bill.
Sure, but 30+ years ago. I didn't think it was a very memorable movie experience honestly.Never see Hunt for Red October?

At this point, I doubt it. If it was ever possible.I haven't read this entire thread, but I imagine this has been covered .....
If they find the sub and it's on the bottom, can they rescue them?
Yeah, it takes a certain type of person to do this - and not just rich. They had to know they were risking their lives. So what was the fatal flaw in deciding to get on this thing? Probably assuming that something that cost a small fortune would necessarily be high in quality.
Pretty sure SOSUS extends up towards Newfoundland also.Heard a guy say the plane drops some type of buoy tube in the water. If 2 of the buoys pick up the sound they can narrow it to an area the size of a mall parking lot.
Yikes.
“At some point, safety just is pure waste,” Stockton told journalist David Pogue in an interview last year. “I mean, if you just want to be safe, don’t get out of bed. Don’t get in your car. Don’t do anything.”
“I think it was General MacArthur who said you’re remembered for the rules you break,” Rush said in a video interview with Mexican YouTuber Alan Estrada last year. “And I’ve broken some rules to make this. I think I’ve broken them with logic and good engineering behind me.”
Ouch! Dude survives the Titanic, but then is doomed to live 100 years or so in Council Bluffs, Iowa.It turns out that Iowa has quite a few interesting connections to the Titanic. One of the last survivors of the Titanic lived and died in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Tell us you have a death wish without actually saying you have a death wish.Yikes.

I wonder if he ever wished that he had gone down with the ship. LOL
What they're doing is absolutely retarded.Pardon if this has been discussed, but here's a doc on the company and it's sub, where they have multiple malfunctions where they nonchalantly discuss sleeping on the ocean floor and figure it out in the morning when losing comms and another time tried holding the video game controller sideways and upside down when they lose propulsion. Wtf?
Hubris and science are incompatible.Yikes.

Right?
If he’s on video saying that…he’ll be on every safety video from here to eternity.Right?
If you’re ever going to be concerned about safety, it’s before you go 2 miles deep.
