Titanic tourist sub goes missing

Has anyone brought the possibility of all these rich dudes faking their death and starting a new life?

I swear, the more I hear about this, it seems that a Darwin intervention was inevitable. I have yet to hear anything about this that seemed like a good idea.
Maybe, but think about the situations where opening it from the inside might be warranted - the only case for that is sitting on the surface and running out of oxygen. On the flip side, think of the other 99% of situations where this thing is significantly underwater and a malfunction of some sort could lead to this opening would be an instant disaster. Of all the flaws with this thing, this is one I can’t get that worked up about.

Reddit has a video of interior. Holly crap is that tight. Have to sit on floor with legs crossed. My guess is if they are still alive they are basically laying on top of each other like wood planks.

Looks like it should be for two people.

I'm curious if anyone knows if the pinging/tapping sounds could be tracked down and located to a more specific area of the search? I would think with our level of technology, surely there is some way to more accurately pinpoint its place of origin. But maybe not. Hoping for a miracle for these people, but the time is getting extremely tight now.

Heard a guy say the plane drops some type of buoy tube in the water. If 2 of the buoys pick up the sound they can narrow it to an area the size of a mall parking lot.

My parents are not divorced and I'm not divorced so I don't have any direct experience with it but do most people have a strong emotional connection to a step parent?

Not that I think it's right of him to be acting like this in such a public manner even if he doesn't care about his step dad.
I think the issue he was lashing out before this tweet about how he was grieving

So what was the fatal flaw in deciding to get on this thing? Probably assuming that something that cost a small fortune would necessarily be high in quality.
Yeah, it takes a certain type of person to do this - and not just rich. They had to know they were risking their lives.

OT - from Wiki.

Over 310 people have died attempting to reach the summit of Mount Everest which, at 8,848.86 m (29,031 ft 8+1⁄2 in), is Earth's highest mountain and a particularly desirable peak for mountaineers. The most recent years without known deaths on the mountain are 1977, in which only two people reached the summit, and 2020, when permits were suspended by Nepal because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why visit the Titanic? Because it's there ....

Yikes.

“At some point, safety just is pure waste,” Stockton told journalist David Pogue in an interview last year. “I mean, if you just want to be safe, don’t get out of bed. Don’t get in your car. Don’t do anything.”

“I think it was General MacArthur who said you’re remembered for the rules you break,” Rush said in a video interview with Mexican YouTuber Alan Estrada last year. “And I’ve broken some rules to make this. I think I’ve broken them with logic and good engineering behind me.”

It turns out that Iowa has quite a few interesting connections to the Titanic. One of the last survivors of the Titanic lived and died in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Ouch! Dude survives the Titanic, but then is doomed to live 100 years or so in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

I wonder if he ever wished that he had gone down with the ship. LOL

Tell us you have a death wish without actually saying you have a death wish.

Pardon if this has been discussed, but here's a doc on the company and it's sub, where they have multiple malfunctions where they nonchalantly discuss sleeping on the ocean floor and figure it out in the morning when losing comms and another time tried holding the video game controller sideways and upside down when they lose propulsion. Wtf?

What they're doing is absolutely retarded.

Hubris and science are incompatible.
