I just learned that ESPN will offer FOURTEEN different styles of coverage for tonight's championship game between Clemson and Alabama. Here's the link: http://espn.go.com/college-football...ways-watch-cfp-national-championship-megacast

It's quite a list, but easily my favorite is the "Sounds of the Game" option that will provide enhanced stadium sound so you can experience the game--including the pregame and halftime--just like you would if you were in the stands. NO ANNOUNCERS. You will hear the crowd, the PA, the refs, the bands...it's the way every game would be telecast if I were in charge.

The NFL presented a game without announcers many years ago, but this ESPN coverage sounds like it will be a much better version of that attempt. You can be sure I'll be tuned into it. It's available on ESPN Classic and will stream via ESPN3.

And gotta cheer for Clemson. Hate Alabama, Saban, and the SEC. Go Clemson...and I won't have to hear announcers slobbering over the Crimson Tide. Cool.

Yes, you're right. Forgot about that. Sad, sad, sad....

I'll have to start watching and see which way I find myself pulling before I know, but the no announcer option sounds great. Unfortunately, I think ESPN Classic is part of Directv's Sportspack, which I cancelled.

Yes, for some odd reason, Direc TV put ESPN Classic in the SportsPak, which I don't have, either, but I plan to watch the Sounds of the Game telecast via ESPN3, which I will stream to my big screen TV. At least for awhile.
