What do you guys think the Federal Judge will rule with regard to the 4-game suspension for Tom Brady's alleged role in the Deflategate saga?

I have read some opinions on both sides but if I had to guess, I believe the suspension will be overturned due to lack of firm evidence, but moreso because of the horrible way in which the NFL handled the investigation. Claiming that Ted Wells was an "Independent Investigator" was silly, and then using the fact that Brady didn't turn over his cell phone as reason to suspend was out of line.

If the standard for this ordeal were the same as is used in criminal law, this case would have been dismissed for lack of evidence and a botched investigation.

I am not a Pats fan and they likely play on the edges/gray areas with regard to the rules, but I believe the suspension should be overturned and that Brady should be out there playing in Week One.

What say you, HROT?

I never thought the evidence was there.

I hope it is overturned, because I don't think much of Roger and I would like to seem him with egg on his face.

The federal judge has already hinted that he will throw it
out. He will overturn the suspension because he thinks
the whole issue is a big joke.

They will throw it out. THere was nothing criminal committed here. If anything, the NFL is every bit as involved as anyone here. It is their officials who handle the ball every play (multiple times) and they never noticed anything wrong. Goodell and the NFL look like complete morons here. Sorry.....the air pressure in the ball makes NO difference in any part of the game. It is nothing more than sour grapes.

Pretty much a coin flip. Judge must undertake official review, will he sweep the NFL's contractual advantage away and give Brady a pass, or will he penalize the union for contracting to prevent defense by its members?

Labor agreement gives Goodell max protection and sacking the agreement is a hail Mary, but lack of evidence may flag Goodell's rush to judgment as out of bounds.

Either way, will be a media blitz and both sides will huddle-up to prepare a game plan to kickoff the appeals, not much chance of either side punting.

It was my understanding that the judge’s sole duty was to determine if Goodell was within his authority under the current CBA. The evidence really doesn’t matter as much as the wording of the CBA.

I can't wait until it's over. I hate the Pats and Brady, but the NFL wants more offense so why don't they let them do wtf they want with the ball? I think New England has cheated, but this is beyond ridiculous. Get the damn think over with already.

A long time ago I swear the judge said nobody would be happy if it wasn't settled.

With that in mind. The suspension is upheld. The stupid Union agreed to the process. The nfl is not a legal arena.

The judge will then rip the league a new one saying what farse the process is. Maybe even release some things that greatly embarrass the league.
