Needs a cross face to get his mind right. Just kidding. I think we all want our kids to choose their own path and just want them to get opportunities. Just because we did things a certain way as kids doesn't mean its the best path for them. I am slowly learning that as a father.

Good for the Brands clan! My son Gable Hawk plays freaking basketball, while I grew up wrestling and coaching it the past two decades. I think I have a chance to steal him back next year when he's a freshman but I know he's got to choose what he wants...freaking sucks though...lol He thought Grapple on the Gridiron was awesome and I'm taking him to the Nebraska dual so I'm still trying to expose him and brainwash his ass. I'm hoping there's a big crowd for the Nebraska dual to help me out...lol

That's awesome that Tom lets his kid make his own path.

I am trying to picture Tom remaining calm while watching his son preform and not being just as intense as he is at a meet though. I have no doubt that Tom is extremely supportive it's just when you only see the intense side of him at the duals or in interviews it's hard not to picture him that way at all times.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Dan Gable has about 6 grandsons now. Each one is quite gifted in the sport of wrestling. Dan trains them and has trained them from a very young age. The kids absolutely love wrestling but also take part in many other sports. I would venture to guess you will hear about them quite frequently the next decade at Iowa City, City High.
