Top 10 players and unknowns for 2015 ...

1. P Dillion Kidd - great bloodlines, clearly Iowa's best punter over past 3 seasons, but he has a hell of a senior season to debut ...

2. LT Boone Myers - the #1 next man in position for 2015. C.J. Beathard's blindside.

3. DTs Nathan Bazata and Jaleel Johnson - we also have Faith, Faith Ekaktie in reserve. The expectations for a Darian Cooper return are sadly very clouded.

4. RT Ike Boettiger is the newbie on the other side of the offensive line in 2015.

5. Do special team rookies OLB and SS Mikes Taylor shine like the 2000 second year men on the Purdue Boilermakers?

Yes, a division run in 2015 is what we all want to see. Drew Brees combined with a young Boilermakers defense was a successful formula. Iowa needs C.J. Beathard to pull off a Matt Rodgers junior season folks.

6. DE Matt Nelson - In 2007, freshmen stepped up and became players in reserve roles helping Iowa to victories over Michigan State and Northwestern.

7. WR Jay Scheel - is he the real deal?

8. KR and WR Jonathan Parker - he provided the signature WTF moment in 2014. He wasn't alone, after listening to KF this past week. It is look in the mirror time. Parker has speed, and hopefully better hands than Paul Chaney, who helped Iowa in the 2OT win over Michigan State in 2007. Parker needs to contribute again.

9. The Classes of 2014 and 2015 - players need to emerge over upcoming season (s). We have seen plenty of Solomon Warfield's lately in Iowa City. Who steps up as a true freshman or RS, not listed already.

10. TE U - with Jake Duzey injured, how will injured TE Jon Wiznieski rebound from his own freshman lost season?

I hope this post provides a little talk for those seeking and looking forward to the coming season. How would your Top 10 list look?
