Gable is the greatest coach in all of college sports. When it comes to wrestling coaches, he's on another stratosphere. No other coach comes even remotely close.
Nobody got more from their athletes than Dan Gable.

I have to say, 11 titles in 12 years is amazing even if he was using 15 Scholarships when everybody else was using 9.9 during that time. I did say "AMAZING"!SPOILER ALERT! Order of Top 5 below for LaxHawk and any others who couldn't get video to play.
5) USC Baseball: 5 consecutive titles; 12 total
4) Arkansas T&F: 12 consecutive indoor titles; 8 consecutive outdoor
3) Houston Golf: 12 titles in 15 years; 16 total
2) UCLA Basketball: 10 titles in 12 years including 7 straight; 3 perfect seasons; 88 game win streak
and without further ado, the Greatest NCAA D-1 Men's Dynasty,
1) IOWA WRESTLING: 11 titles in 12 years including 9 straight; 23 total team titles; 80 individual titles

Stay tuned as it is definitely subject to change...no need to say who or how as the most recent history speaks for itself. Iowa and Gable stand atop for now but only because time has yet to pass...stay tuned!!!
Even if it was. It's squash.Squash isn't an NCAA sport.

Almost, Mike. Almost.
It went a lot deeper and longer than four years plus I did say "AMAZING" in my post, which excludes me from all wrong doing and put me in better graces with the Iowa Fans. It's called "playing both sides of the fence". I and Jammenz wrote "How To Be A Better Troll" handbook that will be out soon in book stores around the nation. Here is a little sample from our "10 Commandments" #10 Thou shalt not covet other schools wrestlers or mothers of wrestlers unless they are unhappy with their school, husband, if they are hotter than a #5 (if you live in Iowa you can change 5 to if they can walk), you had more than one beer. #9 Thou shalt not make false statements on other school boards unless it makes your school (or you) look better. #8 Thou shalt not steal other posters information unless you can post it on another school board and take claim to it(I really like #8). #7 Thou shalt not commit adultery unless at National or any other school away from home. Must be hotter than a #5 unless you're from Iowa (reread #10). #6 Thou shalt not kill a thread if it is about you, all bad press is good press when it's about a troll (I have lived my trolling life on that one, take it from a expert). Also I have a little story about how I got into Cael mind and found out it's empty. Did the same with TnT and it scared the hell out of me!Extra scholarship problem came after the 9-year consecutive title run ('78-'86). What's more, Iowa didn't win a title during 3 of the 4 affected years.

Big 10 Commissioner Jim Delany admitted Monday the conference made a mistake and that it was "embarrassed" in receiving NCAA sanctions stemming from a faulty policy in awarding scholarships in non-revenue sports. The Big 10 joined the Ohio Valley Conference (in 1974) as only the second league office ever to be penalized by the NCAA, when sanctions were disclosed Monday. The league was censured and saw an NCAA grant of $128,000 reduced by $75,000. Seven Big 10 schools will be required to have their scholarships reduced during the next four years to equal the number of permitted grants they exceeded during a four-year period from 1987-91.
Not that I'm aware of.It went a lot deeper and longer than four years
