Manning, Brady, Big Ben,....all will be gone within the next five years. Heck, Manning is done now but still playing.

The read-option in college has killed the QB development system. Guys like Wilson or Kap will only be able to play as long as they can run away.

Where will teh QB's come from? Luck is not all that. Look at the draft this year; Cook? Hackenberg? Really?

Currently, the NFL Bigwigs are focusing on which team
will move to the L.A. area. There are 3 teams who want
to be there: The Raiders, the Chargers, and the Rams.
Stay tuned as an announcement will be make in early
2016.

Luck will bounce back. He's been hurt, but you don't lead the NFL in TD's in a year by accident. (And it's not just cause he threw more, his TD% was very high.)

Big Ben is going to be able to play for 5 more years at least. With Bell and Brown he's been putting up some big time numbers. Some of the best of his career.

Rodgers has quite a bit of time left in him as does Matt Ryan.

QB's develop over time. Unlike most other positions they don't peak after only 2 or 3 years in the league. Many start putting up their best seasons AFTER age 30.

Not to mention with all the new rules in place QBs will play longer into their 30s than what its been in the past. And when the Brady, Manning, Brees, Rogers, etc of the world retire they will be replaced by someone else. They may not be considered "best of all time" but someone has lead the league in TDs.

Their long term issue is the violence in the sport. Mommies are now winning the conversation with daddies over whether junior should play FB or Soccer due to injury concerns. Little league FB operations aren't getting as many kids enrolled. That will seriously hurt the quality of the NFL long term.

They should focus more on their product than who goes to the the lame LA market that already lost teams twice.

I realize they develop over time, but I just don't see the next batch coming in. The read-option thing is killing QB play.

And they've all been there before.

QB Jay Cutler will be available next year. He has a strong
arm, able to throw interceptions at crucial times in the game,
and is a cancer in the locker room.

Here's the thing too, top notch QB's are commanding HUGE sums of money, which means that there's less to go around. Is having a top-notch QB really worth giving up your entire offensive line?
I know Russell Wilson has to be having second thoughts. 18 sacks in 4 games.

Read-option has NOT killed future NFL quarterbacks. There are still plenty out there and in demand.

Have we been spoiled with incredible QBs the last decade and a half? Yes, but no reason to believe we won't again. Will there be another Brady/Manning, not likely, at least not at the same time.

Rodgers/Wilson is shaping up to be a Brady/Manning if you ask me. Wilson's not going to put up the passing stats that Rodgers is, but he has a lot of rushing yards and his team wins a lot.

There will always be some rivalry. . . just because Brady/Mannning is likely over soon doesn't mean that a new one won't replace it.

What happened when Unitas, Namath, and Starr hung it up?

What happened Bradshaw, Staubach, Griese, & Tarkenton retired?

What happened Montana, Marino, & Elway left the game?

In that time you had all sorts of offenses in college, from the option to the run and shoot.

The NFL will be fine.

The injury factor is the Achilles heel of football. Much more important than who the next wave of QBs is.

Injuries leading the lawsuits is a huge concern. Will it lead to further wussification of the game?

Will the current targeting policy be enough to prevent catastrophic head/spinal injuries in the NFL?

The greatest risk to the NFL is from former players bring new lawsuits because of their extensive health problems as they grow older. Does the NFL keep settling these suits out of court or do they start letting them go to trial?

The long term effects of concussions will continue to haunt
the NFL. When the lawsuits become the menu of the day,
then there is financial trouble. 300 pound linemen have made
the pro game different than the innocent high school game.

Considering we have had at least 4 high school players die from injuries this year, why is the high school game innocent?

I'm guessing that as long as this CTE-Chronic traumatic encephalopathy- issue progresses in the direction it is (and it will), organized American football will quite possibly become a memory entirely.

This condition is like the AIDS of football. It's showing up in living players, almost all deceased players. And, some of the deceased that have been examined were violent and extremely unstable people when they died.

Rodgers is old. Not saying he can't go another decade, but who knows.

QBs in the NFL will be just fine.

The continued pussification of our once great country will be the NFL's biggest hurdle. The fact people get hurt at this game will someday get the government involved as it seems that if something in life involves risk anymore it is abolished.

Also, if you play the game you should not be able to sue. Unless you are a blithering idiot you should understand the risks involved.

Ehh that's going to have people thinking twice about playing, but it's not going to get rid of the sport for good or get rid of people's love of watching it.

They discovered a while ago that boxing tends to have some negative long term effects on one's health and that hasn't been destroyed.

I do think it all makes people think twice about if they want to play or not but people will still play and they will still watch.

Theodore Roosevelt called a meeting in 1905 because he was concerned about player safety so it wouldn't be the first time that the government stepped in. Not saying it's right or wrong, just saying it isn't new.

And they put in the forward pass. . . Which also led to accusations that they where ruining the game and making the generation into wimps.

Which I find funny because honestly I have a hard time imagining a more boring sport then football without a forward pass rule.

I mean what would it be just goal line sets with a direct snap to the RB on every down?? How could anyone with any consistency get more then like 2 yards a carry like that?
