Not too sure Toren will make it. Like others said he won't be a RB. I honestly don't know if he will stick.

I have always liked Toren but I wonder if this is a good move for him?Interesting.
How is it not? He has nothing to gain with another year. He would get less carries. He's graduated. Should he come back for less carries to improve his stock???I have always liked Toren but I wonder if this is a good move for him?
I wonder if these guys are just burned out....They do devote so much time to be a D1 athlete especially through the Doyle program.
It would be interesting to ask our NFL guys to compare the time commitment and which level is more fun.
Seems like some of our NFL guys are able to let their true skill sets and personality come out once they leave Iowa. Not a knock, just an observation

I also did not see this one coming, but I think Toren could be a capable fullback in the NFL, depending on his blocking skills. As far as an NFL running back, I don't see it.
You really think he’s better than Goodson?Toren Young was my favorite running back. I thought he was the best with highest yards per carry average and did a good job holding onto the ball. I would have made him the starter.
I would have made Goodson a 3rd down specialist plus some. You really think he’s better than Goodson?

Sadly, being a fullback myself once upon a time years ago you are correct. The 49ers still use one, but I don't see them needing one since the one they have is damn good. Can Toren Punt? The only problem is that only like 4 NFL teams carry a FB on the roster.
Ok that is a bit of an exaggeration.
According to Over The Cap, a website that tracks player contracts, just 14 of the NFL’s 32 teams currently have a fullback signed to a multi-year deal.

4.8 versus 5.3 - does that mean anything to you? LOL.
If you're going to use stats at least get them right. 4.8 to 5.3 on 53 more carries.4.0 versus 5.3 - does that mean anything to you? LOL.
I was referring to his decision to enter the NFL draft. Toren is a great young man but I don't see him getting drafted. How is it not? He has nothing to gain with another year. He would get less carries. He's graduated. Should he come back for less carries to improve his stock???
Oh, there's no chance he gets drafted. You're correct there.I was referring to his decision to enter the NFL draft. Toren is a great young man but I don't see him getting drafted.
You are correct - 4.8. I thought that was a "0". My screen was blurry showing it. Still, 5.3 is significantly bigger. The passing ability of Goodson is why I would make him a 3rd down specialist. Toren Young is a very good RB and under rated. If you're going to use stats at least get them right. 4.8 to 5.3 on 53 more carries.
Also, toren had a whopping 7 receiving yards. 7.
LOL
Ya, that's why he was the 3rd running back, because he was very good. Your main running back with 7 yards receiving on the year. Ya, thats a good recipe. You are correct - 4.8. Special teams? Hope he can stick somewhere.Just spoke to Toren. He told me he's going to graduate this spring and will try to play professionally. Not transferring. Entering the NFL Draft.
I really don't understand this all-too-common pattern - guys giving up college eligibility who are fringe NFL players at best. Yeah, maybe TY couldn't do anything next season to improve his status as a potential pro football player....but it might have also been his last chance to play football in his entire life. Dozens of kids are doing this every year, and I find it a bit sad. The almighty $, I guess.
This exactly. These Young men, (NO pun intended), put in a ton of work, through out the year. I'm sure he see's a limited role, and he'll take his shot or move on......I don’t think it has anything to do with money. He graduated college. He played four years. He’s ready to move on from college football. So he will give the NFL a shot now and if nothing happens he’ll move on with his life and pursue a vocation with his college degree. It’s that or he busts his butt for another year to get 5 carries a game and moves on next year.
Happy for him!
