Hard to predict games from past results, but OSU has been on a roll and is playing with confidence, while the Hawks have been sputtering. Speed advantage to OSU, but size advantage for the Hawks. Let's get back to feeding the post and playing inside out. Hawks need to make their free throws, because OSU will.

We haven’t beaten a team nearly as good as OSU, I think they are better than us, I hope we win by 1.
Oddly I feel more confident in playing OSU than MSU. To be fair, I’m rarely confident anyway. Just think we match up pretty well with OSU. Not sure who they have to handle Garza.
What another game in 2 days?! What a treat, we get to watch tomorrow and Sunday, which I forgotten, payback at IN. Lets sweep the week! Go Hawks!
Maybe they talked to the coaches from Illinois about how to push, grab and shove and not foul anyone in the paint. Do we know who are the refs?
They looked like a good shooting team against the Badgers recently,.. Interesting match up, but I think our longer bench wears them down in the second half..
It's time Iowa goes out and performs like the experienced mature team they are supposed to be. I don't need Ohio St. to be ahead 8-2 and have Iowa play catch up the whole game. Establish some dominance and take the air out of their ball. How? Tough nose defense and efficient offense.
This game could be a statement win a safe true top 10 team or further evidence that this team is good, but not great.
As one of the board pessimists, I am oddly confident in this one as well. Iowa is due for a great showing.
We have more outside shooters than OSU, but Ahrens needs to be kept from spotting up, or he can hurt us. Washington is a really good shooter some games, but will keep shooting regardless and can score in mid-range. Young is not a great shooter, but is good in all other aspects at PG. Inside, Liddell is an emerging star, but might be undersized to guard Luka, who is too slow to guard Liddell. Young is their banger inside, and one of the tougher players in the league. Usually, Iowa is a better offensive team, but OSU is one of the better defensive teams in the country. GO HAWKS!
The opposite is actually true. They are a lot like Iowa when looking at the efficiency numbers.

Just once, I'd like the Hawks to get off to a hot start and not let the other team get a lead that we have to chase the better part of the first half.
Instead of the snarky reply allow me to explain. Tough D is just that, if other teams play with a hand on the defender and nothing is called then so must we. On offense, make that other team play defense with great ball movement and then burn em with a good shot and score. Iowa constantly gives up a basket with less than 3 seconds on the shot clock.
OSU had a great team in 1960-1962, with Jerry Lucas (pre -knee injury), John Havelchek, and Larry Siegried. The Don Nelson Hawks were amazing. I grew up in Ohio, and was a young grade school kid during those years. Bobby Knight was also on that team, and since we shared first names, he was one of my sports heroes. Times change.
