Was just thinking, has Iowa ever trailed by double digits and comeback to win?? I can't remember any games where that happened. (Xavier in the Battle for Atlantis). I remember plenty of double digit leads, disappearing quickly. Just wondering if anyone can name a few.

I still think the MSU debacle at home a couple of years ago was worse than ISU last Thursday. I mean we had MSU down 10 at half and were rolling. Then Travis Trice went all crazy and it went from a +10 lead to trailing by 10+ in a matter of like 2 minutes. God that was bad, and the funny thing was we left him wide open the entire time. That was bad.

I know Todd Lickliter had a better 5 point differential W-L record in his last season than Fran's. He was 1-1 50%....won by 3 over power house Penn State. You want to talk about the other 16 games?

The Mich St game you are referring to was last year....although having a 10 pt lead at half against an eventual Final 4 team...doesn't mean that much. Getting blown away in the 2nd half was disappointing ... this was the same Iowa team that started the B1G 4-1 with two terrific road wins.

I just remember watching it and at half I went to go do something and like 5 minutes later we were trailing? I like WTF just happened, did they score a 10pt play or something? Crazy how that game turned and there was nothing Iowa could do.

Was at the game..yep very painful watching that Trice kid go crazy. Any team that thinks a 10 point lead at half on MichSt is safe hasn't paid attention to MSU BB since Izzo took over. What is it now? 7 Final Fours?

I know its not popular for some on the Rivals HR BB Free Board - but sometimes to have to credit the better team ... just like crediting Iowa for their terrific wins at O$U & Minnesota in that same time frame.

I agree that a 10 pts lead vs MSU isn't safe. Still, I'd be surprised if there were many teams in the B1G who have lost more games than Iowa when leading by 10 pts. It was a problem two years ago when it seemed like Iowa came out of the 2nd half and went right into choke mode in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. I'm too lazy to do the research but maybe I'll see how many games Iowa has lost when leading by 10 pts or more at halftime.

Also, OP has a good point. How many times does Iowa come back from double digits to win? In fairness, they don't get down that much too often, and I think the lack of good 3 pt shooters have contributed in the past, but this team seems to have more good 3 pt options.

I believe Iowa was down by double digits to George Washington in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament (mid/late 90s). That was with Dr. Tom at the helm so of course Iowa was destined to win that game. Dr. Tom never did lose a 1st round game at Iowa.

December '98 at Kansas, down 18 in the second half. Kent McCausland started draining 3's and we came back for an 85-81 win. It broke the Jayhawks' 62-game home winning streak. What a night.

Need help with this one. I believe we came back from a huge deficit against NC State in Dr. Tom's first year. Our second game of the season, at the Great Alaska Shootout.

Yeah, Dr. Tom's teams did it a lot, and much of it in big runs like 16-0 due to the full court press and forcing teams to speed up and quick shoot.

Ya since you are in research mode...lets research everyone...each B1G school...I would bet the better programs since 2011 (IE MichSt & OhioState).. probably have not lost as many games after leading by 10 at half (although last year we beat O$U twice ...but I'm pretty sure they didn't have a 10 pt lead at halftime in either one..and I would bet the lower programs (which we were one of them from 2008-2011) had the least amount of 10 point leads in the first place..

..but instead of making a guess that there are not as many teams in the B1G who have lost more games after leading by 10 at halftime than us...ya research away.

Climbed back from a huge deficit - not sure exactly how much but pretty sure it was double digits in the second half - at MSU. The first game the Hawks played after Chris Street's death. Very emotional game to say the least.
