Is there a reason this kid isn't seeing more minutes? He left the game with 8 min left in the first half and we were down 7. Now we're down 16 at the half. USC totally exposed Pryce and now we're on pace to give up another 100 points. Brutal.

Because Fran and his stupid sit the rest of the first half if you get 2 fouls rule. Pryce was so bad first half. Unfortunately other option is dembele who has the bball IQ of forest gump.

I don't know what you all are complaining about.

Its fun watching short and/or slow plodding white guys try and scramble when their pressure and trapping D gets the ball thrown over it.

Hilarious even.

And why try and guard the 3 pt line, when need to save all your energy for the other end of the floor??

He picked up a bunch of fouls. He had 4 fouls in very limited play. I’m no basketball knowledge savant but it’s pretty apparent he’s a bit lost out there. He plays pickup style offense and is completely lost on defense. Some of you just like to bitch. Traore is getting the minutes he deserves at the time.

If that's the case, why not hand him the ball and say, "Shoot Forrest, shoot!" or "rebound Forrest, Rebound!" ? Seems like a simple solution.

As for Traore, he may still be feeling the effects of his injury, or he plays like mentioned ^^^

I appreciated it. USC -2.5 looked like free money before the game, and thankfully Fran didn’t make me sweat that one at all.

If we’re going to play pathetic basketball away from Carver you may as well get paid to watch it.

To me, he seems to have a, I don't give a shit attitude. Doesn't want to be coached and/or play in a system.
This. He hasn’t loads of potential but looks to make the big play all the time and gambles too much or forces shots.

Not sure what the bitch was about Pryce in particular. His defense was no worse than anyone else and he actually rebounds on offense.

Our guards, including Dix, got physically outclassed and USC killed us with rebounding and 3 point shooting. A familiar story. I think a line up change is needed, if nothing else just to improve rebounding. Put in Mulvey and go big!

Who's job is it to coach Traore up on Big10 officiated defense vs B1G athletes? If the guy coaching the defense were good at his job, why would they be the worst defense in B1G?

Traore like so many of the guy's Fran recruits is a tweener. Traore at PF skills/Uber athleticism/ but doesn't have any post up skills and on short side. If you put him at the "3" he lacks perimeter skills on offense.

Sandfort is a 6'7 thin, non-muscled shooter trying to play PF where he gets outmatched in size/strength. If you play him at the "3" he's too slow to guard opposing guards.

Harding----dynamic on offense, but opposing teams try to get him isolated and score layups over top of him. He can't guard his position vs big PGs.

Fran is what he is at this point. We're still on track for 10-10 in conference and bubble team for NCAA tourney. If they want to be a little better, They have to find a way to defend better because everyone is having their best shooting/scoring games of the season vs the Iowa defense.

Traore may or may not end up getting some PT this season but his skllset of mostly being a defensive/rebounding asset is not something Fran values highly. If he gets the JoeT treatment on PT, good chance he is gone. If you look at the transfers out over the years....Christiansen, Hutton, Moss, Dailey, JoeT, Ulis, Bowen,--> the guys transferring out are mostly out of state African American recruits even though they usually make up maybe 20% of Fran's roster. Traore fits that profile of likely transfer at end of his season. Too bad.

Traore is gone through the portal after the season.

Writing seems to be on the wall, as each game comes and goes.

He's obviously unappreciated and 'doghouse'd' by Fran, for whatever reason.
Wonder if why Fran got the Miami transfer? Have so many 6’6-8” guys set for the roster next year. Fran needs to get some guards.

In response to the part bolded above, I do think Fran values defense/rebounding but not if the player is not playing within the system which Traore does often.

They all had big holes in their games outside of JoeT but he was turnover prone. I think your and many other's frustration lie in that Iowa isn't as athletic and play a bunch of highly skilled unathletic white guys. Many of the black players are very athletic but are lacking skills and BB smarts. Fran favors players he can count on to do what he asks and you can't complain about the results on offense, which Iowa is exceptional at. Iowa's defense needs work, which I believe will be strengthened when players like Traore and Tadjo learn to play the way Fran wants.

Maybe he should change his name to McCaffrey? Just spit-ballin' here. ;)

I was just thinking how much Johnson-Arigu would have helped last night. Given how much he represents a missing piece for Iowa, I think he starts from Day 1.
Watching USC, I was thinking this is exactly what Fran is trying to build in terms of size. Iowa's guards looked tiny in comparison to USC's guards and it really bothered Iowa early in the game.

Reminded me of every football game we have played on the West coast, a step slow and an inch too short.
