Travel Advice Needed (From Chicago)

My nephew and his 4 year old son is going to the game tomorrow. He lives in Chicago (close to Evanston). He plans to park downtown. What time should he leave in the morning and what is the best exit to get downtown? First Iowa game for the little guy and he is so excited! Any other advice is also welcome. Thanks.
