As we prepare to greet the "trick or treaters" at our
front door on Halloween, we stock up on Hershey bars,
Snickers bars, Milky Way bars, Butterfinger bars, and
M &M's. Children will make a big haul that night.

As we give them candy which produces cavities we
all have a good time. The American Dental Association
has proclaimed Halloween as their favorite holiday.
What type of candy will you be giving on Halloween?

Usually the full-size single Reese’s Peanut butter cups and KitKat and Hershey’s chocolate bar.

I give out everything but the peanut butter cups and hope to save all for myself.

Sorry Lute, but on Halloween when Mrs. Lute goes inside and tells you she is going to get more candy, instead, she will be getting my salted King Nut roll.

We usually get about 50 to 55 kids from our subdivision
who come to our door. It is always interesting to see
the various costumes that are in vogue each year.

Nerds, Snickers, Milky Way, Kit Kat, and something else. I got at little bit of everything.

I actually just had this conversation with Mrs TJ (no pics) a few minutes ago as she watched her bird feeders while eating lunch:

Her: “I should pass out bird seed for trick-or-treat. I bet some kids would love feeding the birds.”

Me, after waiting a few seconds to process whether or not she was being serious and finally realizing that - holy shit - she is serious: “Yeah, you might want to give them some candy too.”

King size candy bars only, we're all in affluent neighborhoods, candy should reflect that :) Seriously though, wife just buys a big bag of candy at Costco that contains Snickers, Milky Ways, Reece's pieces, Kit Kat's and several other chocolates. And every year I'll get grief from her for opening the door and letting kids pick candy from bowl instead of me just grabbing some and placing in their bag.

Some folks give out taffy apples as a treat and feel
that it is at least half way healthy.

Kids love coming to our house, they get these:

I love this candy.

Snickers, Milky Way, 3 Musketeers, Twix, Kit Kat, Reese's PB Cups are the candy I steal from the kids' bags.

BTW, kids love Air Heads, Nerds, Skittles, and other candy like that. They don't usually go for the chocolate candy bars.

One woman in our subdivision gives out religious
tracts to the children. Most children no longer go
trick or treating at her house. She and her husband
and two children are fundamentalist Christians.

We have 5 or 6 big bags running the spectrum. Halloween in my neighborhood is like a horde of walkers descending on me.

Mrs. Tradition bought a bunch of bags of mixed candy. I'm not sure what's in it because she hides it so there will be some on Halloween.

Don’t get me started on how they ruined our Halloween tradition in Elementary school. Probably the day that made me a hardcore defender of the Establishment Clause to this day.

As far as your question, we get the big plastic bag of mixed candy at Sam’s: Dots, Tootsie Rolls, Laffy Taffy, Milk Duds, Frooties, etc. Our oldest hands it out.

250 popcorn balls! Who doesn't love a popcorn ball!

Dick. I hated people like you. JK, LoL.

Honestly, I didn’t mind them but the concern was always a sharp metal object back in the day, now you don’t see anyone giving those out anymore.

We give out full size candy bars - Snickers, Twix, Milky Way, Hershey’s Milk Chocolate, Hershey’s w/ Almonds, Kit Kat, M&M’s, M&M peanut, Reese’s Peanut Butter cups for the big kids then have small candies for the little tikes.

Same here. We get a 48 pack of full size snickers and a 30 pack of mixed full size M&Ms and bars. Life’s too short to give out crappy treats.

We have the mixed bag of Hershey's candy. The worst people are those the give out candy corn or those nasty peanut butter Taffy things posted above. But seriously, Skittles or starburst are the only acceptable fruit candy. The rest is crap.

Usually we scramble last minute to get candy but this year tBW bought a truckload. It’s a shame we won’t get many kids this year with the weather being so cold. More for me I guess.
