Trey Dickerson to South Dakota

The University of South Dakota Coyotes! Could be a good fit as I believe Trey's old Juco coach is there now.

Good choice !

Coyotes are rebuilding under Craig Smith who was Tim Miles' top assistant for many years, including Nebraska, until Smith left to take the USD job last year. As mentioned, Dickerson's JUCO coach accepted an assistant coach position under Smith -that had to play a big part in bring him to Vermillion.

Smith is also aggressively recruiting Dan Tillo (Iowa Mr. Basketball). If he pulls it off, that would be a nice combo for the Coyotes the next couple years.

BTW, USD is building a brand new basketball arena which will adjoin the DakotaDome and be ready for play (IIRC) for the 2016-17 season.

SDSU is an established basketball program now under Scott Nagy. In the Summit League, SDSU and NDSU have been the dominant powers. SDSU was able to bring in some nice transfers recently - Cody Larson (Florida) and George Marshall (Wisconsin) - to mix with some good regional talent. The player from Sac County you mentioned is Reed Tellinghuisen who started as freshman this year and looked pretty good. Jordan Dykstra (Rock Valley) is another recent SDSU player who Nagy recruited out of Iowa.

USD has had a pretty successful pipeline to Iowa also, especially Sioux City (Tim Hatchett, Mike Graves, Randy Rosenquist, et al.). Casey Kasperbauer (Carroll, IA) currently plays for the Coyotes and is their designated 3pt shooter.

Cody Larson was from South Dakota, not a big surprise that he went back home

While it wasn't a big surprise, SDSU wasn't a forgone conclusion either. After leaving Florida, Larson picked-up about 10 offers including Gonzaga, Baylor, Nebraska, UNI, and others.

those are the schools he was listed as having before going to florida. no one in their right mind would think that was still his offer list after he left gville.
