So, which team surprises first? Iowa -Onside kick to begin the game? Wisky - Flea flicker on first scrimmage play? Statue of liberty by CJ for Jordan C? Double reverse by Wisky on their own 20? Side-line lateral pass by CJ to Vandy who thows deep to Smith? Koehn runs ball on fake punt for Iowa? D. King lines up in slot as receiver for Iowa and goes deep!? Or, NO tricks in this game cuz both teams stick to smash- mouth football? Maybe G. Davis and 'new Kirk' will fool all the experts this year! Or not!? A new era begins for Hawkeyes vs. Badgers - ? Probably not, but keep your eyes open - !! 11 a.m central..THIS IS A HUGE GAME!! Especially for Iowa! IMHO

Tricks seem iffy here... Both teams will heed caution going in, but with that being said would love to see us do a fake punt to heal old wounds ....... If we get it that is.... Side note here would be wiskys lbs like blitzing more, so I wouldn't mind seeing more screen varieties.. Go Hawks!

Iowa will not onside kick to start the game as I imagine that will be receiving like every other game under Kirk (old and new alike).

This is exactly the kind of game where trick plays would be huge. And it's also the kind of game where Iowa's offense needs to spread out, not jam shoulder-to-shoulder. Spread hash to hash and largely neutralize the blitz. Doing so opens running lanes and forces one-on-one matchups. Don't make it easy for Wisconsin. Spread wide, use rollouts and moving pockets. Don't run dropback passes in tight formations that just makes CJ a target the way he was against Pitt.

Surely the new KF will recognize all this and act accordingly. Nothing frustrates a wild-eyed, blitzing, aggressive defense more than spreading them out and running formations that neutralize their aggression. It's football 101.

And as others have noted, oh how sweet would it be to run a succesful fake punt or FG to help set up this win. The old KF acted like that 2010 fake punt never happened. Maybe the new KF will remember and finally seek revenge.

Iowa needs to pull out all the stops and do those things that Wisconsin would never expect. Throw on first down. Pass to set up the run. I see no reason to fear these Badgers. Respect them by doing whatever it takes to beat them.

Have you ever had a friend that will sit across from you with a rubberband after faking like he'll shoot it at you? Sometimes the anticipation is worse than being shot.

Having run some of those plays already makes defenses account for it whether we run it or not. That's the beauty of it.
