That was the best part of the end of that game; watching Wirfs rumble down the field finally taking 4 psu defenders to get him to the turf. Would have been epic to see him make it to the end zone.
It wasn’t a pass, so it’s legal. It was a lateral
Id didnt realize you could pitch it to o line men. Someone should incorporate that into an offense.
And McShay was calling for targeting at the on the safety that hit him at the end of the game. That dude was going high on everyone he hit the entire second half of the game after sitting out the first half due to his ejection in the second half of the Indiana game. He led with his helmet against Sargeant on the sideline and didn’t get called, not sure how you don’t call targeting on that play alone. I think IKM also was hit high along the sideline and possibly concussed so that’s why we didn’t see him again also (prior to the fumble). PSU was definitely head hunting Iowa running backs and didn’t get called. That stuff has got to be cleaned up by the league office.
I think all players are eligible to carry the football as long as it is behind the line of scrimmage or, more obviously if the ball is pitched backwards (Cal-Stanford example).
