It's sort of low-key been a thing for a while. A not insignificant percentage of evangelicals have no real appreciation of liberal society or many of the ideas that emerged from the enlightenment.I just read a book on this.
But what's interesting about that is that they're politically active.
Lots of people functionally have no clue about either before mentioned items.
But they're very likely to not meaningfully participate in the political process.
This is going to be a long 4 years for many people on the left. It hasn’t even started and they’re already showing signs of a breakdown.
It’s a take of the famous distracted boy friend meme. Meaning instead of following the teachings of Jesus which is based on compassion, helping the poor and meek, and loving thy neighbor, they are turning their back and embracing hate of everyone not like them.

People who claim they are Christians but really worship fake idols and spread hate, yes it's accurate.
Real Christians who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, actually cracked open a Bible (not just purchased one from Trump) and try to practice loving others, no, it's not true.

Well… making millions of dollars off poor people in the name of religion certainly isn’t endorsed of Christ.
It’s going to be an awful 4 years for everyone in the bottom 99.5%.
I’m mostly shielded. I feel for all those who will suffer, but I’m looking forward to Trump getting everything he wants in the next couple years so the bulk of his voters feel the weight of what they’ve done. And very high on that list are the evangelicals who are praying to the least Christian President in US history.
He has his own airport with a fleet of aircraft. He is also a pilot. Let that sink in.

Jesus was and still is the epitome of a woke, dirty liberal. Many self-proclaimed Christians claim to love Jesus, but it' pretty clear they don't practice what he preached, not by a long shot.
