The MAGA version: He didn’t really mean he was not a Christian. He meant he was a Christian as he shook his head. And if he actually said he wasn’t a Christian, he is still recovering from the bullet wound to the ear and meant to say he is Christian.

Also, when Trump stated a bunch of times they wouldn’t ever have to vote again, he meant he was going to take care of all the important issues to Christians in four years and not that he was planning on being in power forever. In fact, Trump is going to take care of everything in four years that there will no longer be a need for any further governing. So, in no way could any reasonable person interpret his words as him planning to be president well past four years. But even if he did stay in power past four years, he is the Chosen One and it’s God’s will.

Which is less surprising, that he said you won’t have to vote again or that he’s about a Christian.

Less surprising that he told people they wouldn't have to vote again. He's always been pretty open about wanting to be a dictator. But he used to always give lip service to Christianity even though he didn't seem to know shit about it.
