Trump’s clash with the courts escalates

Pretty telling that Dems are so against cleaning up corruption.

The Dem position is indefensible. They may not win an election for a decade.

It’s pretty telling Elon brings computer programmers to an an ‘audit’ and not auditors.

It’s also pretty telling the ‘audits’ have only taken a week and a half and drive by posts on Twitter,

But you know that. After all, who hasn’t wanted to audit an organization investigating you?

Continue with you false confidence of being on the right side of history. Or you’ll just act like you had reservations the whole time and weren’t an obtuse pumper. The pendulum always swing. It’s just a matter of how strong your dissonance is.

The wildest thing about all of this is they have complete control and only need to do a little actual legislative work and much of this would be done without any legal issues. Trying to just rush through is only backfiring. I know he wants to be in the golf course, but damn… Congress only needs to do a little work to get things done.

Yeah, I think that much of this is going to backfire. I think there are clear cases (such as with birthright citizenship) where there are sound grounds to block the administration until legal questions can be resolved.

However, more dubious injunctions that are more about #resistance are going to probably going to neither stop the administration for very long, and will end up losing and setting precedent that will codify expanded executive authority.

This supreme court hasn't been too friendly to legislating through the courts or bureaucracy, and have continuously encouraged Congress to assume their proper role, which both parties seem uninterested in. We'll see what happens, but they haven't been very friendly to the authority of unelected bureaucrats.

I saw this today on Twitter and I thought it was pretty good. Obviously what is "substantively important" is up for debate, and you could arrange things differently (I would split deportation of illegal immigrants into "deportation of illegal immigrant criminals" under the red Take the L and "mass deportation of law abiding immigrants" potentially in green).

But this is a pretty good framework for how the Democrats should be thinking about messaging I think.

This has been my point. I don’t think anybody objects to finding fraud and waste. But I don’t understand why they’re doing it illegally, when they could simply go through the correct channels to do it and there would be zero issues.

as soon as congress gives trump $260 million dollars, i'm sure he'd be fine with them dictating exectuive policy too
