Trump Suggests He’s Considering ‘DOGE Dividend’ Checks For Americans
Checks of $5,000 to all taxpayers using DOGE savings was proposed by a reported DOGE adviser.

I'd rather see all that money applied to the National Debt. Too many "taxpayers" who aren't paying any tax will benefit from this, though, so who knows. Doesn't sound much like a smaller government to me.![]()

No if we are going through the pain, pay down the debt that is what this was supposedly all about.Returning money to true "tax payers" should be something we all can agree with.
Isn’t that socialism?
This is a bad idea. Don't just send checks to Americans, spend it wisely instead. Make it go further so we don't need to increase taxes.![]()

If he does this, don’t ever complain about socialism, the debt or any govt spending you think is silly.Returning money to true "tax payers" should be something we all can agree with.

That's part of all this lolI'd rather he fixed Social security.
He's returning a small percentage of doge savings to the American people. Much better to give the actual tax payer money then sending billions overseas for trans comic strips in peru and Afghanistan. He really doesn't care about the deficit or inflation if he does this.
5k per tax payer is the best current projection. 20% of doge savings split evenly is the idea.So 2 trillion divided by how much should be my expected check.
His approval is over 50% lol he's polling better now than at any point during his first term and is ~20 points ahead of where biden and Kamala ended lolHis approval ratings are in decline so it's time for the bribery checks. Just remember, you'll get that money because someone's family no longer has an income.
Never bank on a socialist understanding basic economics. This is a troubling response. This is your money that's being returned to you.
Actual estimates are between 50 and 100 billion in their first month btwSo far, Doge has saved $5.5 million after getting busted for lying about the billions number. So 20% of the real number is jack squat for the rest of us. Like pennies. But since Trump wants to get rid of pennies, we actually get nothing. Well played, OP.
All monies recouped should go to paying off the debt. This is a troubling response. This is your money that's being returned to you.
Last night I heard the real savings would amount to about a $30 refund per tax payer. So far, Doge has saved $5.5 million after getting busted for lying about the billions number. How about we pay our bills before we pay ourselves.Returning money to true "tax payers" should be something we all can agree with.
while this whole exercise is a farce, I'll be shocked when the show the receipts....I'd rather see all that money applied to the National Debt. Too many "taxpayers" who aren't paying any tax will benefit from this, though, so who knows. Doesn't sound much like a smaller government to me.
What about the national debt. We don't care? Or do we?Returning money to true "tax payers" should be something we all can agree with.

36 Trillion. Savings should go to balancing the budget. It was the same type of magical thinking Dubya tried with his various rebate checks. The cost/benefit of additional stimulus doesn’t make sense.Never bank on a socialist understanding basic economics.
Hearing the CRAZY fat ass wants to giver $5,000 to everyone, AND of course the money isn't there.Last night I heard the real savings would amount to about a $30 refund per tax payer.
Will you refuse your payment when it's revealed the debt isn't being paid off and Trump is borrowing the money to pay "real taxpayers", such as yourself?Of course. And that's addressed in the OP.
As previously stated, my hope is that it includes an opt out provision so that the big government spending supporters among us can do their part in funding their habit.
What a dumb response. This is what happened on an absolute best case scenario for the GOP with this. Taxpayers didn’t pay enough to fund the government. GOP identifies areas that money can be saved. Instead of actually funding the government they decide needs to stay, they return the money to taxpayers, meaning the government still won’t be funded at that lower spending level.Of course. And that's addressed in the OP.

So which is more important to you? The highly questionable amount of $5k Trump says they’ve saved thru DOGE and you get the refund, or using those savings to balance the budget and pay down the debt. Which will have a much bigger long term impact? This is a troubling response. This is your money that's being returned to you.
