Trump to plead the fifth in ny deposition

Peter "Green Bay Sweep" Navarro will incur hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal bills and possible incarceration when all he had to do is what Trump did today - show up for your interview, assert your 5th amendment right against-self incrimintion, and walk away. Same for Bannon.

The price of blind loyalty to Trump.

Trump was an idiot when he made his comments about the mob taking the 5th. Most people under criminal investigation shouldn't talk about anything. Trump shouldn't either. If nothing else, the prosecutors will trick his dumb @$$ into conflicting statements, then charge him with perjury.

Remember this is the guy who can't shut up about any perceived injustice against him. The same guy who openly bragged he could commit the crime of shooting someone in the street and not lose a single voter.

He knows he's in trouble and his silence says everything.

This is what happens to be people who have no filter and no self-discipline. It's why, regardless of politics, I was and am befuddled by Trump supporters.

Would add the caveat - prosecutors wouldn’t need to trick him. Trump would not be able to keep his answers brief and to the point.

He would trap himself.

To the lawyers in the house -

If someone, say Donald Trump, takes the 5th during a criminal deposition, what is the impact on the strategy of the defense?

In other words, whatever is in his most empty head in response to these questions - isn't that part of "discovery"? Can he refuse to answer these question and then come up with some surprise excuse at trial?
