Player presser was an hour later than normal today due to the Thanksgiving break and guys not being in class.

Spoke with Keagan Johnson about playing against Nebraska, the school where his father played. He said he didn't think it would be a big deal. He said he's gone to a lot of games there over the years, but only played there once in a state title game.

Talked to Seth Benson. Since he's from South Dakota, he said he has to get a lot more tickets this week. Asked him about not seeing Martinez now and the Huskers having a different QB and he said they have watched film on Smothers from the NW game, but it's limited. Still do the same things on offense and will have to adjust. He said that's a strength of Phil and the staff that they are quick to adjust.

Tory Taylor was classic today. We were talking to him about awards and not being a finalist for the Ray Guy. He said that the punter from Rutgers should get it. He went off on the bad decisions made by those award. He said Duncan should gave received the Groza a few years ago. He went off about how Shudak should be a finalist for the Groza this year and he's not. Went off on how guys who kick in the south have it so much easier because of warmer weather and less wind. Pretty great stuff. FWIW, Taylor says he's coming back next year.

Talked to Goodson about a milestone he hopes to reach on Friday and that's cracking 1,000 this season. I asked him if he knew how close he was and he laughed. He said his mom and dad keep track and remind him. He's 55 yards away, by the way. He said it would be very special to achieve that this season. It has always been a goal to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. He feels like the inside run game is really clicking now.

That's some quick notes. Ferentz at 2 pm today.
