Iowa always struggles with these super athletic teams that get in their face defensively. They end up turning the ball over or forcing ugly shots.

It was looking like another devastating UPSET and drop in the polls/seeding again, but thank BABY JESUS they pulled it out.

I’ll take an ugly ass win over a good loss any day!

Onward to two Top 10 matches this week. I think we take them and position ourselves as a potential 1 seed—as long as CJ is back.

What say you?

Based on this game vs PSU, they don't look good enough to win at Michigan and at OSU...but never say never.
Fredrick needs to look for his shot more. JoeW has had recent turnover issues, hopefully they are done.

If CJ can play and is as effective as he was tonight, oh yes they ****ing can.

I’d argue that UM doesn’t have the speed that PSU has. I watched em today and I honestly believe PSU has more explosive guard play. It was a good tune up anyway for Michigan. They actually don’t scare me as much as PSU.

Take the over in the game vs Michigan.

Uh, Michigan just beat a great OSU team. Michigan has lost ONE game in the B1G. They are much better than PSU.

The FT's misses were KILLING me... but that's the kind of game it was. Nothing comes easy. Happy with the win.

It’s amazing what a difference CJ is For this team. on this team we have Iowa’s all time 3 point shooter and wheezy who is shooting lights out but it seems like CJ could be Iowas best 3 point shooter. If he is healthy we are a tough out

This team isn’t playing well enough to beat either Michigan or Ohio St right now.
They tend to play up or down to the competition or situation. If they'd played the way they played today, I doubt that they would have won either of the previous two games. They could have--probably should have--taken down tOSU at home. So they aren't that far off. Just continue the intensity on defense and shoot well.

100%. CJ is lethal from 3. Can put it on floor and create his shot, great passer and plays good perimeter d.

The team that housed Sparty and sucker punched Bucky sure can. Maybe now that the pressure is finally off and Luka has the all-time UI scoring record, they can play a little looser and at least split the OSU and UM games.
We HAVE to split these next two if we’re anything that we want them to be.

Time to man up for a few certain players. This is their chance to show that Iowa’s in the truly elite this year.

Both um and tosu will be favorites. Maybe that will let them loosen up.

If um or tosu bring their A games, Iowa won't win. But if either of them are off a little and Wieskamp and Fredrick are shooting lights out it could be interesting.
Iowa’s favored in both games according to ESPN’s % win.

But I agree Vegas will have us as 4-6 point underdogs to start each game.

Played an athletic, scrappy team and won. Some of you wouldn’t be happy with an orgasm.

Other teams have a really good scout on us right now. Pressure our ballhandlers and we will fall apart with turnovers. Be relentless denying the ball to Garza. Teams feel like they can play man to man with help coming off Connor and Jordan. Key bench players are not playing well, straining depth.

Be damn glad Fran has been able to turn the dial up on defense or this team would be fighting to stay in the top half of the NCAA bracket. Somehow Fran needs to find a way to get Toussaint, Nunge, and Bohannon back in gear and playing confident/aggressive.

Last 3 games are fools gold.

Michigan is reality.

I hope to God everything breaks Iowas way and they somehow manage to win but UM will smoother our PG defensively and kill us in pick and roll offensively.
This post is too smart for TheTruth poster.

It’s dead right & I’ve been saying the same thing but can you dumb it down for that poster. That person doesn’t really understand bball.

Hey @ROCKY MOUNTAIN HAWK don’t be such a pussy and @ me next time. Yeah I don’t understand basketball at all.

I know enough to know that Iowa has a good shot of splitting those two tough road games. Small dogs in both games, both are beatable, and Iowa is waaaaay better than you’d like to admit.

When’s the last time Iowa was Top 5 Kenpom this late in the season? Top 5 NET as well. It’s starting to look like you don’t know shit about shit.

.......

unfortunately Fredrick Is limited to 1.5 to 2 miles of running in practice. Do to leg pain. Unless that changes right away. He will not be able to play great every game. Nobody this side of Michael Jordan can.

Overall I agree with that . I was just saying we match up better with Michigan. Their really good, but I still think in terms of teams who gives iowa fits, Penn St is one of those fast, athletic teams that we struggle with. I get it their record is what it is, but they are dangerous
