Trying to not get too high going forward. This is a very streaky team.

It'd be nice if they can pull out a W out of UW...and I think we're catching them with us on the uptick, them not really playing well.

Dare to dream...

Fran has put together a good young roster. Hard to say which freshman was better today, Cook or Bohannon. Iowa was relentless, and Maryland had no answer. The key for these young Hawks is to show consistency and build off of this great win.

The Baer, Pemsyl and Ellingson might be the best first three off the bench. Kreiner, Uhl and Williams are a good deep bench. Young talented and deep are this group.

As I remarked earlier in the season, no high expectations for this team this year. Just hoped to see them grow and mature as a team. So impressed with thebcourt savvy of the freshmen starters and bench. I am very pleased at what I have been seeing and hope they do well in the BIG tourney.

Next year with the new additions will be exciting!

I really loved how they knew the game plan and executed it. Kept getting down to the post early, it really paid off. Funny, last game Cook made nothing but his dunks and missed all his bunnies. Tonight he missed all his dunks and made all his bunnies. Awesome free throw performance from him the last few games, seems like he's really slowed his shot down and focused and it's been paying off

Very nice win indeed. But I am concerned. Not with Iowa but Indiana.

I'm watching the Indiana/Northwestern game on BTN, and they cut away to Tom Crean on the sidelines drinking from a can. I thought I saw 211 on the silver can.

Isn't that Steel Reserve? Has it come to that LOL. J/K but it looked odd.:D

Cook is finally playing with some passion. He looked like an All-American tonight. Good to see JBo play so well after a few not-so-great efforts.

B1G might not have a top 4 seed.
Right now I don't see a B1G team better than the 5 line in the NCAA tourney.
B1G is weak at the top. Has made for an unpredictable conference season.

We are a much better defensive team when Williams and Baer are in. The zone has really improved.
This game it did & that's only because Mary couldn't hit wide open 3's. Forced them to have to work it inside & zone got a lot of steals. Mary had good looks & just couldn't hit them.

Obviously JBo was the single biggest difference maker, but Cook was incredible down low. His offensive post game has been showing lots of promise and was the best to date today, but his defensive energy was also a dominant force today. Those guys were flat out awesome tonight.

Its so true from the perspective of both teams tonight. When your hitting your shots,(especially from 3), you look good, and when you don't, not so much......

Again, don't get too high. Most likely great match ups tonight at forward, center and guards against Maryland. Remember, they all have had good games before and came back to earth the next game or two. Loved the game but things can change just as quick. We struggle with teams that get away with a lot of shoving and hand checking and are quick.

Thought our defense in zone may have been best of the season. MD did not attacking the middle of the zone at all especially when Dodd got in foul trouble they seemed to think making 3 was only way to beat. Offensively, great to shoot a high percentage, but Thursday could easily be a 5 for 24 effort with the way this season has went. Best thing I saw was Cook making his post move quicker, early in year he would spend lots of time with fakes

One of the reasons the D looked better is we grabbed some defensive rebounds. We limited their cheap putbacks and didn't have to defend for 60 seconds regularly. They really don't have a post presence and that made the job a bit easier too.

If we defend on the inside against Wisc. I'll be more of a believer in the D. Either way we've made light years of progress since the start of the year.

Agree. We did a great job rebounding. We need to be aggressive and attack the rim against Wisky. Happ will be a load until Luka gets here. They will get "Home Cooking", so we'll have to watch our hands.

Tough task but do-able.
