UNI and Illinois State win; Iowa over Iowa State 31-17

UNI takes down Eastern Washington 38-35, after each had lost to Iowa State and Oregon, respectively.

NORMAL, Ill. –
The Illinois State football team bounced back from a season-opening loss against Iowa by defeating the Morgan State Bears, 67-14, during the Redbirds' home opener Saturday evening, in front of a sell-out crowd of 13,391 at Hancock Stadium.

All-American Marshaun Coprich helped the Redbirds (1-1) extend their home winning streak to 14 games by rushing for 130 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries against the Bears (0-2). Coprich broke former Redbird Toby Davis' program record (37) for career rushing touchdowns with two first half scores, while tying Davis' record for total touchdowns (39) with a third quarter score. Morgan State gave up big points @ Air Force and @ Illinois State to drop to 0-2.

So, the College Football world is where it should be with Iowa at 2-0 and UNI, Illinois State bouncing back.
Pitt beat Akron 24-7 on the road, against the MAC team. Akron beat Pitt, after the Iowa loss last year. Of course, Iowa lost to ISU last year, so the Iowa-Pitt game should be a dandy one at Kinnick, again.

North Texas (0-1) didn't open 2015, until this week with a 31-13 loss @ SMU (1-1), who was coming off a beat down at home by Baylor (2-0). The Mean Green host Rice (1-1) ahead of the trip to Iowa City.

Against SMU, former City High and Iowa legacy QB Andrew McNulty threw 2 INTs, in the 31-13 loss at SMU. The game was 13-10 North Texas, until SMU scored 21 unanswered points in the 4th quarter for the win.
