Yes, the Panthers did it again. They won the conference tourney for the second straight season and are headed for the NCAA tournament.

Another terrific game. After blowing a 20-point second half lead, yet again UNI refuses to lose. Those kids have guts. And how about that Washpun...all the way from Cedar Rapids with another terrific game including the game-winner at the buzzer.

Great representatives of Iowa. Good luck to Northern IOWA.

Always like seeing Iowa kids do well. UNI does it with the overlooked ones. Really cool to see guys like Uthoff, Woody, Jok, and sort of Gesell do well. Also cool to see Iowa lock up the top 3 players in Iowa, and Wieskamp UNI getting the bigger Lohaus, and Phyfe who are going to be good players. Really nice that Iowa has enough talent that Iowa can scrape off the top, and there's still enough in the barrel to make a strong drink. Much easier to root for a program, from an unbiased view, when they do it with in state kids, unlike that one Iowa program.

Congrats to UNI but that Evansville team was really, really bad. The MVC is so weak these days but again good for UNI.

They are weak. I still an dumbfounded that Wichita State is still being considered for the tournament. Beating Utah sure goes a long way these days.

Yes, we do. Especially when those kids just won their way into the NCAA tournament and those kids are from places like Cedar Rapids, Coralville, Waverly-Shell Rock, and Marion. Glad you understand.
UNI is, and has been under Jacobsen, a tough, hard-nosed team. He builds around local kids and does an excellent job of developing his players. They know how to win close games.

I think it's cute that you think we should all care about the tournament status of UNI. Too bad they don't have their own board that you could crow on. Oh, wait....

Not elite, but they do have the active points leader in all of NCAA, and leading rebounder in NCAA + 20 wins. The MVC isn't what it use to be, especially with Creighton gone.

yes and hopefully all three can increase their win totals from last year by a power of 3 or 4...

iowa 1x4 = 4
isu 0x4 = 0
uni 0x4 = oh hell, i hope the panthers win a game
Didn't UNI beat Wyoming last year in tourney?

Typical Iowaaah arrogance.

LOL. Whatever arrogance there is among Hawkeye fans, you'd understand if you've lived in both IC and Cedar Falls (like me). CF has little going for it unless the Panthers are doing well. George Wyth is nice and you can get there via CF. CFU kicks ass (or they did at the time) and I wish every town I lived in had CFU (circa 96-03). Awful bar scene/night life. The Hill stinks and downtown is a bore. Very average suburb of a very depressing town (W'loo is Iowa's Detroit).

Oh great another UNI thread. Hooray for mid-major success for their mid-major team full of mid-major players.

My, and most others' here, interest in Iowa sports extends to one school from the state. The others might as well be South Dakota State, Cal-State Bakersfield, or Stephen F Austin (three other mid-majors in the NCAA! hooray!) for all I care.
