Not many guys going...of note, Brandon Sorensen, Young and Gunther
Holloway @ 97 kilos definitely makes me believe we see him @ 197 after Stoll returns. Gotta believe that benefits him and the team most...Holloway at 97 kilos as well.

He has in the past, maybe body needs a rest?I'm interested why we aren't seeing Kemerer wrestle at any of these events. Is he not a freestyler?
He wrestled at the UWW junior events last year and did well.I'm interested why we aren't seeing Kemerer wrestle at any of these events. Is he not a freestyler?
I thought so, maybe he is just taking a break as Spicolli noted above. He wrestled at the UWW junior events last year and did well.
If he is going to go to UWW junior trials it wouldn't make much sense to go to Universities the weekend before. Not sure that is the case but it might be.
Good to see Perez and Laux registered
Not sure if serious, but it's Perez. Seriously.I agree. Btw what is Perez's first name?
Kem isn't eligible for juniors, born in 1996. He may not compete at Universities but I'm sure he's training hard. He's a beast.Kem isn't listed as going to jrs either per iawrestle.
I'd be all in favor of this! Right now, assuming Young goes 174, he'd have no one else at his weight besides true freshman Myles Wilson. I'd like to see another body there to push for the starting spot, Gunther/Moody would be GREAT candidates.Iowa has participants at every weight except 125kg. Note that Gunther is wrestling up 11lbs at 80kg. Does this mean he plans on competing with Young for the 174 spot (vice Marinelli at 165)?
Moody is the most exciting wrestler on the team. He's fun to watch!I'd be all in favor of this! Another question, for those that have seen, which of those two (Gunther/Moody) have the bigger build to handle 174 better?

Young and Marinelli were close this past season with similar results. Hopefully that bodes well for their futures.Yes, Gunther is at the size to be a 174 plus the writing is on the wall. Its an easier path to try and be a starter by trying to beat out Young at 174 than cut only to lose to the Bull at 165. Young is taller and not as filled out, just really skinny kid still, so maybe Gunther is a bit more built now and physically likely to give young strength fits than the Bull but I think Young will be just fine at 174 and win the spot, but I do think he wont be quite lights this coming year until he develops himself a bit more in the weight room. But in 2 yrs from now at 174, I expect much bigger things for Kaleb.
Again we all just need to prepare for this next season as a slight step back and rebuild. 2 yrs from now when Spencer, Warner, Murin hit the lineups we need Kaleb to be there too. This year I'm not going to over expect too much from Kaleb and remind myself to be patient and not over react on his matches. IMO he will lose close ones to guys he will beat the next year.
Box of chocolates.Moody is the most exciting wrestler on the team. He's fun to watch!
FWIW, Gunther is undefeated against Young. Also in the opinion of the guy that called Gunther the starter very early going into last season, a starting spot is his to lose and I don't think he does.Yes, Gunther is at the size to be a 174 plus the writing is on the wall. I also said preseason Gunther was likely the guy last year. It wasn't because he was the top guy. Young has put on some noticeable good size, and has better offense. Their head to heads don't matter. Gunther will have to pull the trigger more or it will be an easy choice. I am putting Young as a strong favorite to be the man at 174. I assume you agree that Bull is the guy at 165. As usual may the best man win. I don't care who takes the spot.FWIW, Gunther is undefeated against Young.
