New Story University of Iowa Opens FLIGHT, an NIL Marketplace

Interesting stuff announced by the UI today -- they made a Cameo-ish NIL marketplace through Opendorse. You can buy custom videos, appearances, autographs, etc. from current and former Hawkeyes. A shout out to the Swarm from Barta in the news release as well.

Seems like a good avenue for fans to conduct transactions with athletes in a way that doesn't interfere with athletes' privacy or routines, and adds a trust factor. Considering how endorsement/memorabilia deals for former athletes have been a bit bumpy in some limited instances in years past, this looks like it's as above-board as can be.

Flight is a for profit company behind the scenes. So the athletes only get part of that money. The Swarm is 100% non-profit and the CEO gets $0.

Donate to the Swarm instead of this thing.

Edit: Also, the Swarm can setup player meet & greets, etc. To me, there's no reason to use this other service at all.
