I'm surprised Xavier has moved up as far as they have...... I'm OK with them being #5 in the Coaches.. if they move 2 spots in each poll they should be #3 in the AP.... but it's just cool seeing them get first place votes! First time since the 80's!

Voting totals were relatively close for 4-6. And having some first place votes is a great acknowledgment. A good win Thursday Keeps Iowa up there and may have them move higher.

The explanation is easy as North Carolina lost both of their games last week. Some times teams drop up to 11 spots when they have two losses, depends on what the other teams do.

This, especially when you consider that at least one pollster had to rate both Michigan State and Purdue ahead of Iowa, despite the fact the Hawks are 4-0 against those teams this year.
