Last year, going into the Maryland game Iowa was 5-1 with the only loss being ISU 20-17. But for the last second win over Pitt, Iowa could easily be 6-1 now. After the loss to Maryland, Iowa thumped Northwestern 48-7 to go to 6-2. After being blown out by Minny, Iowa beat Illinois soundly to go to 7-3 on November 15, 2015.

Nevertheless a loss to either, much less both, makes this Kirk 2.0 turnaround season look a lot like last year at this time.
