UPDATE BTT in 4K - NCAA tournament will not be

For those interested in watching the BTT in 4K, I just read the following:

Men's tournament broadcasts in 4K

Game broadcasts will be available in 4K from select providers, including DIRECTV, fuboTV and XFINITY. Additionally, games can be streamed in 4K via compatible devices with the FOX Sports app on Apple TV 4K, Fire TV and Roku.

Yes to both, I'm not stupid or old, just lazy. I tested it out on the free 4k Roku App of nature scenes and stuff, pretty cool. More was wondering what app I'd be watching the game through. I use Youtube TV, so wasn't sure if it would broadcast 4k over that or if I'd need to set up provider info for BTN or the Fox Sports App, which it sounds like I'll be doing. Thanks.

No problem. Since the website doesn't mention the BTN app, I would stick with the Fox Sports app.

YTTV doesn’t broadcast in 4K none does it have Dolby digital audio.

the fox app is sweet! Crystal clear picture’

Mine looked terrible. The color was really muted, but that was using the app on my TV. What device were you using?
 
You can’t get the Fox Sports app on Roku if you have YouTubeTV. I tried. It makes you go to activate.foxsports.com to activate. And you have to sign in with a tv provider to activate. YouTubeTV is not one of them.

All you get is a free 1 hour preview.

**EDIT** Got it now. If you go to activate.fox sports.com it doesn’t list YouTubeTV, but if you scan the QR code, you go to a different page, which does list YouTubeTV. Weird.

It looks better than a normal broadcast, but I don't think I'd call it crystal clear. I think it still suffers from being a stream that has compression on it and expanding that out on my 75" tv. I've got fiber with 500Mb/s bandwidth, so I'm not dealing with an internet capacity issue. Makes me yearn for the day when the antenna I put in my attic starts picking up 4k signal.
